My sister had open heart surgery on Jan 16, 2025. I spoke to Joanne who is in the Surgical Waiting Bliss area back in October since I was flying in from TN and needed to reserve a room at the Hudson House. Joanne is a charm. Made the reservation and arrived on time. On Jan 16, my sister was in surgery and I had the pleasure of meeting Joanne. Joanne really made the waiting experience a plus. Constant updates and a wonderful personality. We need more of her in our world. Please let her know that Jim from Tennessee said hello and thank you for everything!!!

Our little girl was born 10/26/2024 at 5:03 a.m. she was 7 lbs 10oz and 20.8 inches long. Her life was nearly over before it started. But the labor and delivery team saved her. They were prepared for what was happening and saved my little girl. We are so grateful for all of the Dr's and nurses who care so much about all of their patients. I am eternally grateful for everyone who helped us. God bless

2/18-The attitude of most PCA and med staff are horrendous and disgusting. Young staff gossiping in another language, obviously assuming i (being white) wouldn’t understand, as they were Jamaican. As soon as i made a comment about how im eavesdropping, the clique dispersed.

had to request EVS three times to take the trash out of my grandmothers room. It had been there for over 12hrs and had her soiled (bm) wipes, trash, food, etc.

2/17- called four times for an update from the nurse. Was basically told that she’s not really her patient since she’s admitted. Lauren in the ED, you have an ethical code as a nurse to oversee my grandmother if she’s assigned to you. I went up to the blue pod desk to ask yet again for a nurse to come for an update. You huffed and puffed, rolled your eyes, and shook your head no. I understand the ED is chaotic, always. ITS YOUR JOB. Communicate if you can’t answer my questions. She was retaining 1400cc of urine, constantly saying she had to pee, no uti, HELLOOOO? Wouldn’t you do a bladder scan. A new nurse came at 645 and thought of that bright idea, just after two seconds of scanning he saw 600cc. She hadn’t eaten all day either! Also, she was put in a room where the previous patients’ pure wik urine was left for HOURS.

HH ED do better on moral, cleanliness, service, employee safety, all of it. Because it’s embarrassing and that’s why its reviewed score is so low.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Not enough beds to treat patients. Wait time for life threatening issues is inexcusable. My daughter had to wait 5 hours for treatment for a pulmonary embolism after being sent home the first time after a 6 hour visit being told her scan was clear. 2 hours later she was called and told to return asap. She was told that she should be treated asap but when we arrived, was seated again in the main waiting area for 5 more hours. Her scan was not clear. Never again will I be going to this ER! Horrific.

How can Hartford Hospital take such pride in respect & integrity if the PATIENT ADVOCACY department disrespects a patient with no accountability or action taken?
I called and emailed this morning with hopes they could help with an issue. Unfortunately my issue couldn't be overturned but the way they went about it and lack of help for me is unacceptable.
I think they should rename their slogan because it's not a standard they actually hold up to. Sadly.

I personally did receive good attention and adequate care needed for my child. I don’t have not even one thing to complaint about. From the staff, the waiting time and procedure necessary, everything was more than I expected. All the nurses, doctors and medical staff were helpful, attentive, and compassionate. We thank and appreciate everyone from Hartford Hospital!.

THIS REVIEW IS BASED ON PARKING, AND ANNOYANCES WITH POLICY! My issue is I get here. Parking garage is closed, ok valet slot 1 full..I'm in line for their secondary valet, I'm stuck between cars...can't move anywhere call the office they tell me i can basically only be 10 to 15 min late otherwise I'll have to reschedule. Check my clock I have 5 mins to get inside to the 5th floor still 4 cars in front of me. So I'm aware I'm not making it...rescheduled I'm here parking is full AGAIN! Half the cars are over lines or taking up 3 spaces because screw everyone else. 6 elevators total. Only 2 in working order. 5 min wait time, get to my doctor 30 mins early. On time for appointment and now I'm waiting over 20 mins.

STAFF was very kind to me and I have no issue with them...I get that things happen but it's just annoying, frustrating, and just maddening when you do everything you can and just things fall apart...
To end they need to expand parking and figure out some better design however staff have been hard working upbeat and lovely.
