Stay at this hotel for work 21 days a month so it’s like a home away from home, front desk staff always meets you with a smile and are friendly, polite, and knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast is always top notch with plenty of selection and the choices rotate daily so you are not stuck eating the same old food every morning like other hotels. Hotel is always clean and neatly kept. The outside of the property is well groomed and decor changes with the seasons. A very well let parking lot, with plenty of parking. The rooms are very spacious compete with walking in showers, large television, a full size refrigerator and a cook top. Always a plus is the social that is held Monday through Thursday evenings where you will find refreshments and a lite snack which is always welcome after a long day at work. If I could give this hotel more than 5 stars I would !!!!!

Always feel welcome. Room and common area are clean and well maintained. Bed and pillows are very comfortable. Kitchenette is a plus. Love the ability to have a refrigerator big enough to put some stuff in. Staff very friendly and go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. Breakfast is as expected.

wow great rooms, pleasant staff, good breakfast, good showers, comfortable beds nice room, very quite large frig, stovetop burner, etc with cooking items. great location would definitely stay here again there were no down size to this hotel.

I stay here quite often the staff is overall amazing! Rhonda, Destinie, Logan,Melissa,Jamie, and Shameka are amazing!!! I would 100 percent recommend this hotel to all!! Thanks for making my stay worth it. Everyone stay here. 10 out of 10 stars

Very maintained and super convenient location. Great staff, Shameka has awesome hospitality. I enjoy the breakfast variety as well. Highly recommend for your stay!

The rooms were very clean, and the staff at check in was very friendly. We were told breakfast started at 5:30 am. We were downstairs at 7:15 the coffee crafte had 1.5 cups of coffee left, and 3 creamers didn't lighten the 8 oz cup of coffee. Two employees were sitting in the dining room chatting with a guest. They made zero attempts to replenish the food or coffee. They talked to the guest about the cost of food, we ate and had to interrupt their conversation to ask where we could dump the coffee we couldn't drink. The hotel itself was nice, employees in the morning were not professional at all!

There's a great view of the city of St. Clairsville and plenty of good food choices.
The only down side is the amount trash on the side of the road coming up to the hotel and the trash thrown behind the dumpsters.
Overall great staff and a wonderful place to get away for a weekend.

The Hawthorn is a great place to stay, great staff. I’m here more than I am at home. Sometimes I wonder how much the employees get paid? It has to be a tough job. I wonder why they stick around, this can’t be the only job out here. I watch them put up with a lot of disrespect and filthy conditions from the oilfield workers more than I’d like. Do the employees report back to the managers or the worker’s supervisors? There’s no way I would let my employees be treated so low. I guess it’s all about making money so whomever is in charge could care less how their employees are treated. Housekeeping is always great, breakfast is good, nice variety. Front desk is good when you can find someone. I recommend Hawthorn because of the service but I also recommend that you treat people how you want to be treated. This staff provides great service. They deserve better.
