Completed Día de Muertos 2024 with HOT in Oaxaca and I cannot say enough amazing things about this company. They care so much about all of their travelers and all of their experiences. The cultural immersion on this trip was truly phenomenal and all of the local providers/merchants/restaurants were phenomenal. I went on the trip not knowing a single person and left feeling like I had a little community!
The leaders truly take care to ensure that every individual’s needs are met and taken care of. My group leader, Cris, was absolutely phenomenal and my local guide, Miguel, was also incredible.
HOT truly plans every detail with care and precision. Just after 1 day I felt like I had already seen and done so much! I left Oaxaca wishing I had another month to spend! I would not trade this experience for anything.

Dia de Los Muertos in Oaxaca was such an incredibly special experience. It was a beautiful way to honor my late parents and connect with my Mexican culture. The people, food, and traditions are so beautiful. We also visited several artisans, most of them female. It was lovely to support them and hear their brave stories. It was all very inspiring, and I can’t wait to go back!

This is our third trip with Heart of Travel and each one has been excellent. Our trip to Cuba was phenomenal in that it was well organized and provided exposure to history, culture, food, and people. I cannot recommend Heart of Travel more enthusiastically! We took a trip to Guatemala to see the Giant Kite Festival in Sumpango. It was important to us to learn about Guatemalan culture, people, history, food, and have authentic experiences where we could get to know people. From my very first conversation with the team, I felt confident in their experience and that our values aligned. They absolutely exceeded expectations - everything was perfect! The travel arrangements, hotels, restaurants and activities were all impeccably well executed. The variety and intimate nature of all our activities was superb, as was our amazing guide, Selvyn. His passion for his country and people is heartwarming, his knowledge of culture and history is encyclopedic. He is a consummate professional, taking care of everything we could possibly have needed or wanted. He is also a tremendously warm and wonderful person who we felt really fortunate to get to know. The work by the entire team behind the scenes to ensure a magically seamless trip is impressive. We fell in love with Guatemala; the beauty of the country, warm smiles of the people, amazing food, rich history, and an incredibly well-planned tour led by an expert guide - what's not to love?! You will love Heart of Travel!

We spent 12 days with Heart, plus two travel days. We spent 8 days in Oaxaca and 4 in CDMX. To be brief, 5 stars all around. There were four in our party. The itinerary was exceptional, as were the guides and leaders. Everyone in our groups were treated equally and with care and respect. We learned, immersed in the places and cultures, and always felt safe - trust in their care and their word. Everyone was treated as special!

We will only use Heart for any Latin America visit we do in the future. Thank you. You are the best.

I highly recommend booking your vacation with Heart of Travel. I just got back last week from the Caribbean Escapes: Costa Rica and Panama trip and I am still thinking about it - and wondering where to go next! From the detailed planning that went into the itinerary to our fabulous tour leader, Cris, along with all of the wonderful local guides, this was an amazing experience.
