This is a beautiful trail with a relaxing stream and waterfall at the end!! Great place to sit on a boulder, dip your feet in the water, and enjoy the serenity and calm all around

Took this trail while pregnant for 9 months. Anybody can do this. Went there during summer and there were a lot of flies saying hello to our faces the whole time. Just bring an incense to make them go away.

I couldn’t find the heart rock. Apparently I went all the way down a fire road when a friendly person on a bike directed me to the trail and left a pile of rocks for me so I would know. I climbed down and couldn’t find any directions to the heart rock. Pretty trail, I followed it back and took photos. But it would be nice if there were signs! Oh yeah - bring bug spray and sun screen!

This is an absolutely phenomenal hike - one of the best in the region. It is easily accessible and fairly easy hike (ranked moderate. It's only roughly a mile trail length and has very little elevation gain) for all ages.
From the small streetside dirt parking lot (do NOT attempt to park on the small adjacent road past the Camp Seely sign) you immediately pass through lush surroundings and cross a stream. Most of the hike you are treated to the sound of moving water, and it's not far until you reach the namesake waterfall. There are several smaller falls throughout the trail, and all are truly gorgeous as they wind past moss covered boulders and green vegetation.
I can imagine this makes for a great swimming hole area in the hotter months.
As is the case with many other hikes in So Cal, it's very disheartening to see the graffiti here.

December 26th, 2023, 54°, roughly around 11:45 am. This was my first time visiting and attempting this trail. It was only my dog and I this time. And all I have to say is, wow, absolutely beautiful. From beginning to end, every view was spectacular. The trail itself is moderate. Some parts you'll need to take your time and watch your step, from small rock, large bolders to mud, and washout trails. It was really fun and worth the effort. The very end could be very steep and a bit challenging to get back up, but it's worth it. I will definitely make this one of my routine places to go to. And on the next I will invite some friends. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to check it out.

Trail was nice. Ok for kids. There is some slippery slope terrain (on certain sections) so recommended to bring some sturdy walking shoes. At the beginning of the hike there is a section you have to pass and walk through the water (around your ankles) so some water shoes or sandals or even barefoot (just an fyi).

We did hike from cedarpine park all the way to heart rock. Trail is beautiful especially during fall season with all the colors. Trail is covered with trees, shady. If you are first time visitor, there are chances that you miss heart rock. You will be walking along side the stream. But it’s difficult to recognize that you need to get down at a point to see the heart rock. It has a small water fall. After that you will find a small pool of water. You can finish the trekking or keep going forward in the same trail. I would definitely go back. Lot of people over the weekend especially with their dogs.

Bear encounter!! So what my friend and I thought was going to be a fun cute hike ended up being the hike from hell. Not too sure why but from the start we just had an eerie feeling. We also realized how unprepared we were if we came in contact with a bear or something. Mind you we hadn’t seen one person walking the entire trail. Then we heard a bear growl, it sounded like it was right behind us, kind of like a warning growl. Thankfully we didn’t see it but it was so loud it made us run. I know it’s nature and that’s to be expected but a ALWAYS BE PREPARED TO RUN INTO WILD ANIMALS. Couldn’t enjoy the walk, we did make it to the rock after we finally saw 2 people. Ended up walking back with a family because we were so spooked. Bring bug spray too because my friend also got stung by a wasp. Creepiest trail ever. I heard this place is haunted anyway. Crestline has a very dark history, stay safe!
