Fantastic service! Super nice and accommodating. When checking in Liz mentioned to us that there was a bigger site available that was more secluded than the one we reserved and to check it out and let her know if we wanted to switch. The new site was great so we switched and she made it very simple! Super communicative over text and gave us recommendations on where to eat in town. Would definitely recommend to friends looking for some close-to-town camping, and I hope to come back soon!

We had a great weekend, quiet, clean place, the hostess is super kind and helpful. We will definitely come back, highly recommend it.
The campsite is very close to the city center, 5 minutes by car and 30 minutes walking. They have a lake and an incredible leisure area, I recommend it.

My husband, friends and I, have been staying at Hearthstone for several years. It’s a smaller, cute rustic campground less than 2 miles from heart of Helen and near by Smith-Gall state park.
What we love is that you are not overwhelmed with too large of a campground, and it’s much quieter. Liz, the owner, puts her heart into her home and campground offering. Hearthstone is meant to be a stay of rest, being one in nature with the small hiking trails surrounding the grounds and letting your artistic creativity flow, as she even offers an art workshop for guests to enjoy. 🙂

We loved this place! It was amazing, my whole family loved it including the art area where we got to paint some rock and be artistic. Liz the owner was so sweet and amazing. Very responsive and was helpful with any of our needs. Would definitely recommend and would be coming back.

Tent campers beware! Campground was cozy. BUT...Upon arrival, you must text or call the host to check in, and we did so with no response, even with multiple attempts. We finally took it upon ourselves to locate our site and found that the advertised vehicle length alloted to each tent site was severely over estimated. The website says max vehicle length is 20 feet, which we are within, and once the host finally came to check us in, we were told we could not park at our site because we stuck out into the road. This is due to the fact that you actually park across the road from your tent site, and not actually at it. The roads are one way in and out and very tight to turn around unless you have a small car. We did not use the shower house, but did notice that there seemed to be no drain in the shower as the water just ran out the front of the structure and across the road. There were only porta potties, and the roads in and out are very steep. It would likely be impassible in rainy weather. Positives are that it is close to Helen and has cell service, but these were not enough to want to stay. We had a 3 night reservation and only stayed one night. We were lucky enough to find a last minute opening at Unicoi State Park, which has much better amenities for the same price.

My husband and I stayed in our camper for 3 nights. It’s only been our second trip ever and we had an AMAZING time!! The proximity to downtown Helen made it super easy to run back to the camper and let the dogs out! The host is so sweet and such a hard worker! She let us tour the cabins and they are all so great! We will DEFINITELY be coming back and hopefully with friends or family! - Sincerely, some happy campers!

Please read reviews thoroughly. Booked RV site to spend a week in Helen a month in advance. Discovered my wife had already booked us a spot at Unicoi State Park and after reading more and more reviews (poor communication, tons of extra charges) I decided to cancel. I called, texted, AND sent an email within an hour of making the reservation. Was fully willing to eat a small fee to cancel. No answer. A few days later, I called again. Then texted. Then emailed. Again no answer. A week later I try again. I call, I text, I email. Guess what? No response. I had to file a claim with my bank to dispute the charges and block any future charges. Not a professionally run campground at all. Spend your money with those who will answer their phone! For what it's worth, Unicoi State Park was great!

I imagine this is a wonderful place. Unfortunately, I have reached out to the number provided numerous times with no avail. We have an emergency situation on our hands and I strongly feel they need to provide some type of customer service. At this point, I would absolutely not book here again! As soon as someone reached out to me, I will gladly give an update.
