Reservations for New years Eve. We went with the pre-fix option. Our seating was not great. Service was good until the end. My main meal was the duck option. It was less than med and medium rare. It was black and blue and couldn't eat a third of duck breasts. The risotto that came with it was slightly grainy (undercooked, in my opinion), but I didn't have a difficult time eating it.
I think our waitress knew we weren't happy with my dish, and it kinda felt like she avoided us. She didn't charge us for our drinks we ordered outside of the pre fix, which we are grateful for. The soup and shrimp cocktail were good. I lost the love of taking photos of my food when dessert came.
I canceled future reservations for this establishment.

I’ve visited The Helmsman twice now on visits to the Mystic Marriott. The space is beautiful, and the menu had some great choices. My friend and I enjoyed a night out here during the fall, and I had a caramel apple mocktail that was quite possibly the best mocktail I’ve ever had. Our dishes were good, and my fiancé and I were very impressed when we visited another time to try their Valentine’s menu. Our servers were attentive and friendly as well!

As "locals", we stop here regularly as it's a solid place on our drive home after a long day. However, this time, I sat alone at the restaurant bar and had the pleasure of having Tia as my bartender and server. I can't begin to tell you how awesome she is. Great at her craft, full of energy and made my dinner experience an absolute pleasure. I can't wait to bring my better half back! Oh, and the prime rib special was good too, so well done kitchen staff, but you have a gem putting it all together!

I frequent Groton Marriot often and Yuleka’ has been my bartender/ waitress many times , she is amazing and always makes sure everything is on point !!
From the cocktails to dinner and dessert.
She goes above and beyond!!!
Not too mention it makes my time at the marriot top notch!!!
Food is always fabulous and the truffle aioli is to die for!!!

Everything was amazing. The Newly renovated space is minimalistic without lacking a thing. Music was great. Our favorite thing was the Caesar salad. Nathan was our server. Nathan was very friendly, knowledgeable of the menu and attentive. Definitely stop in and at least try a Punch and a Kick it is a delightful rum based drink with pineapple & orange juice, mango nectar and grenadine.

Our waitress Olivia was a true delight! Informative, attentive all around excellent. Food was equally as good. We had the ribeye and the swordfish. We will definitely be back for more. True hidden gem in Groton!

Penny & Tim are the stars of breakfast every morning! The food is fresh & plentiful. The evening bar menu and service is equally exceptional. Great quality & reasonably priced. I love everything about the Mystic Marriott. You will too. Don't dine or stay anywhere else.

We stayed at the Marriott and booked dinner at the Helsman out of convenience. We were pleasantly surprised by the food which was just as good if not better than a lot of the other hyped up restaurants in Mystic and Groton. Special kudos to Olivia who was beyond friendly, professional, and accommodating.
