Hidden Rest Cabins - Lakeside, Arizona

A most excellent stay. Simple registration process, great communication, seamless check in. In a great location in Lakeside within a few miles of great trails and beautiful lakes. Cabin was clean and well stocked. Best part is that the pet fee is reasonable and rates are even more reasonable. Pictures attached are of the trailed areas surrounding that are all dog friendly. We will visit Lakeside again and stay at Hidden Rest.

We had a wonderful and relaxing time at the Hidden Rest Cabins. The cabin was very clean and the bed was comfortable, cabins are equipped with everything you need; the only thing that was missing was the wifi (but ultimately it was good to escape the busy life). In addition, it is in a convenient location with a close proximity to the restaurants/ hiking trails. The check in and check out were extremely easy. We will come again!

We stayed at Hidden Rest over labor day weekend with our doggie!! Cabin 8 was perfect!! Quite cute cozy clean !! And Melissa the host was absolutely wonderful. Every one we met that was staying there was also very pleasant ☺️ ? ? sincerely Dawn

My kids and I stayed here for a night in the family cabin and absolutely loved it! Plenty of room. We loved hanging out in the playground area with the swings. My kids loved playing horseshoes. The cabin was very clean. The queen bed in the bedroom was very comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

If you are looking for an old fashioned cabin at a great price and close to everything this is the place! Great vintage cabins. Super clean, good size, with small kitchen and a.cute front porch. The only reason not giving 5 stars is the location is right off a main road so there is some highway noise.

Being a fisherman, this cabin really worked well having a refrigerator and freezer to preserve my catch. Since I was waking up at 5am to head out for my fishing, the cabin was really quiet to get a good nights rest. Having a propane grill onsite was nice since one night I just did not want to go out and fight the dinner crowds. Plenty of hot water and beds we're comfortable

TLDR summary: small, clean, well appointed cabins. Dog friendly, easy check in/out. Plenty of restaurants and stores nearby.

We spent 3 days at Hidden Rest in cabin 7. The property has cabins around a common area with seating, fire pit, and play equipment. They keep the property clean and have smooth gravel on the paths to keep the dust down. They have several sized cabins with and without spas. Ours was a small one without the spa. It had a rustic look but with modern amenities such as electric reclining couch, high top table with 4 seats, small fridge, induction cooktop, coffee maker, microwave and toaster. There were plenty of outlets for charging electronics. The two rooms and bathroom were cozy, but it worked well for us. Everything was clean and it appeared that the fixtures were all relatively new. The water heater was small, so we only got one 5 minute, warm shower and then had wait about 15 minutes for it to heat back up. There is even a sign warning against back to back showers. All cabins have AC and ours had a newer split unit instead of a window unit. It worked really well and was almost silent.

I’m not sure how many people come with an intent to cook in the little kitchenette, but we came prepared to make breakfast. They supply rudimentary utensils, a few pans, and 4 place settings. Our only complaint there was that the only pan with a handle, the largest pan, was not compatible with the induction stove. We mentioned it to the owner so hopefully they check that in all the cabins. Making bacon in a saucepan that has no handle is interesting… They supply both prefilled coffee filters as well as plain filters in case you want to roll your own. We were missing disk soap and they corrected that quickly.

Check in and check out was a breeze. They sent us the code for the electronic door lock and we went straight to our cabin without having to check in at the office. When we left, we had a small list of things to do, like take out the trash and ensure that the dishes were washed. We didn’t have to go to the office. In fact other than the soap delivery, we didn’t speak to anyone other than via email or text.

The property is right off the main road and therefore there is a lot of traffic noise. Our cabin was at the front so it was very noticeable. The cabins have single pane, crank windows, so they don’t help with the noise level. We would try to stay towards the back next time. There is also the fact that there was one or two dogs in the office building that barked. A lot. Hopefully it would be quieter toward the back. It was our observation that most properties in Pinetop were situated along the main road, so it wasn’t limited to Hidden Rest. Fortunately, the road calms down between 10 pm and 6 am.

Overall, it was a great, restful experience and we would stay again.

Off-Grid Backcountry Adventures

Great place! Very comfy beds and I really like the vintage range and fridge. There's a nice courtyard area to hang out at night and plenty of places to walk your dog. I'll definitely be staying here again.
