Really pleasantly surprised! Had to make a last-second hotel reservation. Hillside had the best price, and by booking directly (not through a third party), price was as-advertised. For the price, I thought it might be a place past its prime. But it far exceeded expectations. The entire facility is well kept, and fastidiously clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was larger than expected, and the mattress was awesome. Bathrooms were spotless and no signs of aged fixtures or caulk. It was quiet, and I had a great night’s sleep. The complimentary breakfast was standard Continental fare, but again: a MUCH better presentation and dining room than one normally sees. Really lucked out on this one…will use again!!

The rooms were disgusting. Floors were not sweeped/mop, the entire room was full of dust. There was no microwave and no coffee pot. The towels had a horrible smell to them. The beds had remnants of trash on them, even between the sheets. Totally gross!!! Overall experience was horrible. Breakfast is a joke!!
Would not recommend to stay here pay an extra 20 dollars to stay at a better hotel.

We enjoyed our visit and room was perfect. It was very comfy and clean. Service was excellent and when we return to Pagosa we will definitely stay here again.

I'd stay here again. My back & neck didn't hurt after sleeping on the mattress & pillows. No one unlocked our doors in the night. Stripped beds down to the mattresses - all clean. Furniture is well-worn. Painting of walls in the bathroom was sloppy. Finishes are cheap. It was hot in the room when we checked in, but we were comfortable enough to sleep within the hour. A/C would probably be described as loud by most people, but we sleep with white noise, so it didn't keep us awake. Fridge worked well. No microwave. Pool & hot tub were very clean. Don't bank on the free breakfast, especially if you are gluten-free. Bottom line: it's clean & I'd stay here again. It's a good place to rest, but not a high-end hotel or resort.

So this hotel was on the verge of getting a ranting review, up until I had my lil sister and her boyfriend come by to swim after a Halloween party. First things first upon arrival back to the facility I had realized that I had lost my room key now, I understand key cards aren't free but I would've much rather paid a fee then the ladies additude (BTW my sister and her man we're standing with me the whole time) this is were if guest were a policy breach she should have told me and they would have happily left. Instead this women let's them enter at this time it was about 9:15 we hurry along change and hit the pool about 9:30 pools open till ten, where the same lady 15 minutes later comes in waving her finger at my little sister and shouting what's your room number (validly knowing she was with me) I piped in with my room number where she proceeded to kick them out and call the cops I have read the policy for both this hotel and the general hotel policy for Colorado this lady was rude and disrespectful as well as plain ignorant if she thought that what she did was ok I've traveled my whole life and never heard of such a blatant display of disrespect toward a guest . Also had she approached us differently in the pool room and said they I'm closing the pool down we would have happily vacated the pool area. The other two and half days of my stay were pleasant and uneventful. Washer and dryer on site is a great bones and breakfast was open on time with a rather large variety.

Positive: It was quiet Negative: They said there was a full breakfast including eggs and biscuits and gravy. All the had were eggs and cereal . I also went to the pool and they had no towels . I asked the front desk and the guy was really rude and said nope don?t got any .

The hotel was OK overall. However, it seemed several things were out of order. There were out of order signs on the lobby bathrooms and computer center and the 2nd floor ice machine. At the continental breakfast, the waffle machine was out of commission because someone had burnt a waffle on it. Instead of cleaning it, they just removed the option. No proteins were available either.

Horrible service. Strange employee admitted to watching us swim on cameras, very creepy behavior. He also cussed us out don’t stay here. I attached a picture of the employee who cussed us out and was watching us on the cameras swimming the whole time and made us very uncomfortable.
Response to owner: Response to owner: we never broke any pool rules and ur employee never communicated any issue with us he simple went and yelled at us completely unprovoked we were dumbfounded and confused and didn’t even know what was going on. No one tried to talk to us in a kind matter it was screaming and disrespect from the very beginning. The “issue” was NOT addressed multiple times he only went once inside to yell and cuss us out. The situation was not handled professionally since the very beginning. And yes you are racist because you believed the white ppl complaining about us without even trying to talk to us about the problem first and kicking us out and then not refunding us is completely unacceptable!

You do realize I have your employee on video you know that one that was stoned and high out of his mind. You guys are trying to lie about the entire situation even lying about your employee trying to talk to us “many” times when that was never the case . We were not bothering anyone or harming anyone. and we broke no pool rules we were minding our business ur employee went to us ONCE and yelled and was disrespectful from the very beginning we were dumbfounded and confused! As what was even going on. He never tried to talk to us nicely about the situation he was rude and cussed us out from the very beginning. And yes it is about race. One ☝? white lady complains and you have to make it into such a huge altercation? No one was respectful of professional from the very beginning. Just admit you guys were not professional with the way you handled the situation!!! It’s not very professional for your manager to be high and smell like weed and cigarettes on the job either!
