I can't say enough about this place or the owners. It's just a cute little spot in the hillside. It's quaint, peaceful and a little out of the way. My husband and I came across it while Door dashing when we first got to the area from Tennessee almost a year ago. We had reached an incredibly difficult time in our lives and starting over from scratch. All we had were a few personal things, our dogs , each other and the smallest crumb of hope left. I fell in love with the energy and style of the motel.
After establishing employment we called them up and booked ourselves a room..... At check in I just knew we were in the right place.
Bruce is the "man of the house " but Katie runs the show! They have been so amazing! Very down to earth, relatable and honestly, rare gems for business owners. I've never experienced so much compassion and genuinely caring and understanding from people running a business literally making a living with plenty of their own stuff on their plate and still have this way of making it feel like home, like a little family, a little community right here. And Katie absolutely goes above and beyond to help out anyone who is in need. She even volunteers at the local food pantry now and then. Super outgoing and makes feel right at home. You have a concern or complaint, and they are both on it immediately. No body is perfect. And people have hard times. They are no different and they understand that. I couldn't have asked for a better place with better people to call home while we start over and get back on our feet. Definitely a treasured time in my life I'll be telling all my grandkids about when have some. All it takes is respect, honesty, integrity, and good old fashioned friendly, hardworking, positive attitude, be considerate and pay your rent and you're golden!
If you haven't figured it out yet but made it this far, I absolutely recommend staying here. Space is limited but hey will definitely do their best to accommodate your lodging needs. And don't forget to check out Katie's little gift shop in the main office!

I wish there was a 0 star review the owners are outrageous and they like to kick you out a day early. When you pay for a day Bruce the owner likes to kick you out the same day you paid so do not pay week to week because he will short you days. Not only that bed bugs are bad there i do not recommend staying here.

The owner is nice at first but don't knock on office door after 5 pm. The owner gets really hateful and rude. And he won't give you your deposit back at all and if he does. Trust me it won't be all of it. The cleaner/ house keeper is his girlfriend and they act nice. At first. Don't be fooled. He goes in the rooms when you're gone and they will do so even if you say that you don't want them to clean the room. They will anyways. Just to be nosey.

This place is riddled with bed bugs and the owners do not care they told me it was my job to clean up the bed bugs or leave without a refund or change of rooms the owners are very disrespectful and do not care once they are paid I say this now you are better off sleeping on the street trust me do not come here unless you want robbed or to get bed bugs

Wish I could give them 10 stars. I'm working local and I am from out of state. I was going to rent a room in a house but one of my co workers recommended hillside. I cannot explain how accommodating the owner and staff is. I asked that I did not need my room cleaned daily but my pleasant surprise about weekly the staff still comes in while I am working I come home to a clean room. Anything I ask is taken care of immediately. They know I work off hours and do not bother me at all if I am here. Just a great place to spend a nice night or a month if working local.

My husband and I stayed here traveling through on our motorcycles. It was a spacious, clean, and updated room with a flat screen TV, fridge, microwave, and table for 2. We enjoyed the front porch with the plants. We ate at Mehlman's Cafeteria, "up the hill", based on a recommendation from the office and it was like a home cooked meal-yummy. Bruce, the motel owner, was very friendly. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
