Excellent location to hike and explore. The visitor center is a very good starting point. The staff here will guide you to the correct park access point for your desired recreation and time limit. Very helpful staff! There's also a ton of displays like a natural museum of sorts. What a great experience. One thing I will say though is everything here is museum quality EXCEPT the live animal displays. These are very small and a live animal should be given much more space and a natural habitat. These look like what my 12 year old nephew would have in his bedroom. I would suggest that improvement on behalf of the animals who don't get a choice in the matter. 2 feet of space for your whole life is kinda sad ?

Quiet and clean visitor center with several small exhibits. It makes a good starting point for some of the biking trails, or a nice place to rest and appreciate the landscaping and water features. ‍♂️ Jerry Hembd, working the front desk, is very friendly and informative. ? Lovely place

Easily one of the nicest state park and nature facilities I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen quite a few. ultra cool displays educational and informational and very well-designed. A must stop if you’re interested in the Arkansas forests.

Being such a hot blistering afternoon, my wife and I spent a fascinating hour with volunteer Steve at the Hobbs Visitor Center educating us on snakes, lizards, frogs and turtles of Arkansas. Facing my one huge phobia, I actually held a snake! Thank you Steve!

I absolutely love this state park! Top notch! Full of so much entertainment and information. Kids love it. Beautiful trails. Definitely pit on your to-do list!
