Holiday Farmington goes above and beyond on a daily basis! Jen and her team are compassionate, caring, and energetic. The residence has a positive vibe that cascades through every department as the staff work in unison to touch the lives of their residents. Holiday's elegant ambiance and genuine staff speaks volumes. You will not be disappointed!

While most people are celebrating the holiday season with family and friends, there are some folks who live here with no one to celebrate with. Holiday Village Gate closed the dinning room this Christmas Eve and is serving a bag super that they put out after they served lunch. That means the lonely can truly be all alone without a hot meal and people to share it with. Shame on you.

I read many reviews online before moving my mom to the Village Gate. The biggest complaint was the food quality. I was assured that the issue was being addressed but so far there hasn't been much improvement. Overall, we are very satisfied with the Village Gate. I'm grateful that my 94 year old finally agreed to sell her home and move into this retirement community. She is comfortable in her apartment, socializes with new friends and looks forward to the daily activities (especially Bingo)! What a relief to me (as primary caregiver) and other family members!

My mother and her husband live there now and the food especially is pretty bad. They currently do not have a chef (he went on vacation and his replacement left so they’ll be a week without a chef?) so today’s meals were cold cereal for breakfast (they were told they couldn’t even make them toast) a grinder for lunch and pizza for dinner. Other days even with their chef they offer one small entree for dinner and cottage cheese and fruit for the alternative. And they are paying an extra $790/month for food the extra person. And they are already paying more money because they have a 2 bedroom place? I am appalled and very disappointed in the facility. This is not an assisted living facility so they don’t get a lot of services to start with but the food has been bad from the start and is going very quickly downhill. They do run out of food often, give tiny portions, use too much salt for elderly people and the residents pay close to $4500 for a 2 bedroom with 2 people. Not okay.

On a positive note, I’ve heard good things about Ashley and Brendan.

Tonight’s update: they “ran out” of the dinner that my mom was going to bring to her husband so she asked for a sandwich to bring him up, as they’ve done in the past. She was told “oh we aren’t doing that anymore”. He had a cup of soup for dinner. Seriously Totally unacceptable!!

This place is beautiful, It is greatly maintained, a very clean, safe and inviting environment. My dad loves it here and he raves about the food! Thats huge for my dad! I rate all upper management staff with 10 stars. Any questions have always been dealt with with the highest level of professionalism always seeking the common good of the resident. Polite, courteous people who care about the people and their establishment. I would highly recommend this residence to anyone who wants the peace of mind knowing that their elder parent is in a safe, clean, place and well looked after. Thank you for what you do.
