My family and I stayed here for the rock climbing competition. The Manager Chris was amazing, took the time to answer all of our questions and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Mary, the breakfast server was friendly, great with kids and the breakfast was delicious. Despite the snowstorm the hotel staff ensured the sidewalks and parking lot were cleared and safe. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone traveling the area.

Our stay here was great! The room was a good size and breakfast was very good. I just have to commend the employees at this hotel. The staff was very friendly and honest! Unfortunately I was careless enough to forget my hearing aid charger. I didn’t realize it until I was home which was 300 miles away. I called the hotel the next day and they checked and it had been turned in. I never expected to see it again. So nice to know there are honest people and Newington has them too!

I stayed here 2 years ago and i was disappointed. I decided to try again as my kids wanted a pool. What a turn around. The housekeepers are amazing and work diligently. The front desk staff are great as well, very knowledgeable and friendly. The hotel is very clean and welcoming. Thank you to the owner, and management for the great experience for my family and I.

Very comfortable room and comfortable bed! Great breakfast. Great location. Friendly staff. Easy check in. Lots of choice for dinner or lunch in the area. Pool was great for my grandson. I have frequented this hotel as my family lives close.

The room was clean, but the heating unit will gradually heat the room significantly above where you set it. I woke up in the middle of the night to what seemed like 100 degrees!

The next morning, I went for the included breakfast and was disappointed. The sausage is super thin and smelled odd. The omelets look like qusadillias, and we're rubbery. I think a cheap fast food restaurant would have been more appetizing. Maybe offer two rates, with and without "breakfast"?

When we arrived in the evening, I was initially concerned. The garbage can was overflowing with garbage, and I instantly had a worried feeling about how our room was going to be. The girl working at the front desk seemed very overwhelmed and a little brief, but understandably because there were 2 sports teams staying at the hotel and there were kids hanging out in the lobby. The elevators were a bit slow, but once we got into our room my whole attitude changed. The room was GREAT. |The bed was the most comfortable that I slept in during the whole week that we were away. The room was very big and incredibly clean. There was even a fan in the bathroom which most hotels seem to forget to add for some reason. I love the mirror in the room with the hanging hooks. The only issue we had was a few kids running the halls knocking on doors. But kids will be kids, I get it. We were hoping to beat the sports teams to breakfast and we must have hit it at the right time because it was not packed. The girls working there were working extremely hard to keep up with the demand and keeping everything stocked. I liked the fact that in the bread selection they had some French toast slices that could be put into the toaster, something different than the other hotels were at. The cinnamon rolls were right on par. Very nice check out, and I made sure to tell them how impressed I was with our room and the breakfast staff. The only thing I would recommend is that the area behind the front desk get cleaned out because it was all cluttered with stuff and was not something I normally see at check in. All in all it was a GREAT STAY and this seasoned traveler would stay here again (the garbage was gone when we checked out, the people on the bus were probably cleaning out the bus and instead of asking for a bag they tried to shove it all in the receptacle outside).

We reserved a room with two full beds. I was very impressed with the size of the room. It was also very clean. Beds were comfortable. The night we stayed there was also a college athletic's team there. However, there were no issues with noise and more than enough room for breakfast. We would stay here again.

We had a horrible VRBO experience and needed out of that property. Holiday Express- Newington was a refreshing change. Friendly staff, clean room, great breakfast with wonderful variety. Great value, comfortable bed and close to all kinds of shopping and very close to where I was visiting (West Hartford). Will definitely stay there again!
