The Cons far outweight the pros of this place. The main reason we rented a "cabin" at Honeybear Haven was that the downtown/walkable lodging was solidly sold out when we were booking. The ads for Honeybear present well, but beware.
While the cabin was adequate for a weekend stay, it's not what it's cracked up to be, and the cabins are all duplexes with VERY THIN WALLS. The kitchenette lacks a sink or actual kitchen facilites, and consists of an electric plug in two burner unit for which there is little room on a tiny counter top next to the coffee pot, and an electric fry pan and a crock pot. There is NO SINK for cleaning, so you really don't want to be using this stuff.
Most offensively the "hosts" send you a list of rules and regulations the day before your stay that rivals a bureaucratic paper from some government office. Mind boggling and the big offense is these "hosts" treat their paying guests like "the help", as if the guest were their maid-service/housekeeping staff meant to prep the cabin for the next guest!
No, dear Vacational Rental Host, I do NOT WORK FOR YOU! It is not our job to make sure any dish or pot we use is cleaned and sanitized appropriately for the next guest — when you don't even provide a SINK, let alone a dishwasher!!! It is my opinion that such a set should not even be legal for rental as a unit in which the owner claims meal prep can take place! I believe if owners can't be trusted to do the right thing, there should be laws governing vacation rentals that require a minimum of a dishwasher in any unit providing dishes and cooking equipment, and a sink for that which can't be cleaned in a dishwasher.
This owner sticks a plastic tub under under the coffee station and expects guest to apparently fill this IN THE BATHROOM!!! and "wash" dishes in the tub. God help any guest who believes their dishes have been cleaned adequately and sanitized at all! Or even rinsed! Or even saw a soap bubble! I sure would trust the loud drunk staying next door to be the folks who cleaned dishes for my arrival!
Either ditch everything but the coffee maker and the microwave, or put in a dishwasher and kitchenette sink in each unit! Unbelievable.
Add to this the list of maid-service clean up the host expects of you. You are to empty the trash. Wash the dishes (in the bathroom). Put wet towels in the bedroom near the jacuzzi tub because that's where the tub is. (Makes no sense. A jacuzzi in the bedroom but no sink or dishwasher.) How about "NO"! I paid to stay here. I'm not the hired help. The towels stayed in the bathroom where they belong. The trash is your job, Host. The dishes are you job. The host should be cited for public health violations with this set up!

Also misleading: one is led to believe that you are booking a single cabin with a forest environment that will be pleasant. What you get is a thin-walled duplex where you can hear every word spoken by the guests next door. Every cough. Every sneeze. Every everything. The first night the people next door left the TV on ALL NIGHT blaring, greatly disturbing our ability to sleep. And there is no one to call. No help.

Scenery: there isn't any. This is a carve out on a gravel road with literally NO view, no scenery. You get to look at a couple of trees barely masking the giant RV parked behind the fence and and some other random vehicles. It's a gravel parking lot and a gravel lot with some trees off to the side. Ugly.

The location is ok for getting into town, that is all.

Communication from the host was muddy and confusing at best. The directions to find the cabins were unnecessarily confusing and downright weird. The simple address works with all the nav systems, from our Garmin to Apple to Google. The crossroads did not work with Garmin, which were secondary "directions". And providing latitude and longitude was downright weird as well. The host never responded to my inquiries about the muddy directions.

The bathroom is LOW sinks, and negligible water pressure.

I would NOT recommend this place. Steer away.

Air conditioning doesn’t work, comforter on bed smells like it’s been on here for quite a few stays. Do not like that the cabins are connected. Can’t sit outside without being in your neighbors business. No landscaping to really speak of. They only view you have is trees. It’s just a boring place and it really was depressing.. Oh and the cost for 2 nights!!! Nearly 400.00 you have been warned. Read the other 1 star reviews. They all are pretty much the same.

Had a wonderful stay here for my birthday weekend! We stayed in cabin 5. It was clean (be prepared for spiders though, it is a rural area - take precautions!), several thoughtful and well restocked amenities were provided, the spa tub was fantastic, and the back porch was nice as well. The towels were very small and thin - I’m already a short, small person and it really did not cut it, not to mention my 6’5” partner. It definitely cut in to some of the luxury of the experience for us but overall still a really quiet and peaceful place to spend some time.

My girlfriend and I stayed here with our 2 large dogs. My concern coming in was that being a dog friendly facility I thought that cleanliness might be an issue, it was not. When we arrived the room was extremely clean and inviting, our cabin #4 had a very modern feel and design from the flat screen TV, tile floors, to the spacious double sink bathroom layout. The back porch area was enjoyable to drink coffee on in the mornings. I also found easy access to walk our dogs in the forested area throughout the day. The pet fee was $20 per pet for the total duration of our 2 night stay, so only $40. I've seen many places that charge double that or charge that on a nightly basis. We definitely recommend this place based on the beautiful location and the comforting feel that the cabin offers. A definite plus was when we used the jetted tub there was plenty of available hot water!!!!

The only thing that might provide someone a problem is that the cabins are not individual, they are duplex and triplex style. The neighbors had a barking dog that was annoying for awhile, but we called the number provided as Sugar Mountains contact and the issue was quickly resolved.

Thank you Sugar Mountain for the enjoyable stay!

We have stayed at Sugar Mountain cabins for the past 10 years during Spring Break.
The cabins are secluded away from the town and are simple, but modern and clean. All the appliances were new and the kitchen area was great.
Also, the owners, Chris and Tammy were very friendly and attentive to our needs.

Comfy room for a quick birthday get away. We were scheduled to stay during the snow and record freezing temps in February and they we gracious enough to let us reschedule. We stayed in “Cabin” 2. It is 1/2 of a duplex, with thin walls. Open room with comfy, clean bed. There is a jacuzzi tub in the room and what I presume is a shared hot water tank with other 1/2 of duplex, since I ran out of hot water before the water was over the jets. There is also a counter(with no sink or water), mini-fridge and microwave in the room. There is an electric burner provided. Coffee pot with coffee and filters. Coffee pot did not work, seemed to be clogged with mineral buildup. Remotes had dead batteries. Ceiling fan was temperamental and light on fan did not work. Doors off back went to covered patio and small fire ring. You will need to bring wood to burn. There was also a grill provided. Very nice, large shower in bathroom. There is a gas station and restaurant just a couple of miles away and downtown Eureka Springs was about 15 minutes away. We definitely enjoyed our stay and are genuinely grateful they let us reschedule due to the crazy weather.
