Wonderful time watching orcas and humpbacks, sea lions, and even an otter way out. We saw lots of flukes. The naturist and the boat pilot were very knowledgeable and helped immensely in identifying and pointing out where to look. Got a chance to learn about the heritage of the indigenous peoples and some of their oral history. This was a 5-star trip!

Awesome wildlife tour with Cora! It was just the three of us on the tour and it was awesome! I love bears and really wanted to see brown bears in their natural environment when coming to Alaska. Cora is a very professional guide and is a local and knows where to go! She told us so much about the island and her family is from there. She took us to a creek where we ended up seeing 4 brown bears! I couldn’t see the first two at first, but the last two came so close! It was awesome to see a bear catch a salmon! Overall highly recommend this tour company and tour guide!

We booked our whale watching tour on Aug 24th. It was breathtaking views! Whales, sea otters, harbor seals and bears feeding on salmon. Special thanks to Capt. Denise Gray! Besides taking us to the locations to find the wildlife, she shared with us her personal stories about tribal lore and ways of life. Her assistant, Carson, answered all biology questions we had. I highly recommend booking with Denise if you can. Our next visit I would try to book again!

Our whale watching adventure with Hoonah Travel Adventure was top notch. The whales themselves were amazing but it was the staff that made the trip so enjoyable. Our captain, Denise, shared her local knowledge and experiences with us as well as the lore of the local clans. Carson was our onboard marine biologist and shared so much great information about the wildlife. Even the shuttle driver was a wealth of great information. I suggest this as an excursion for anybody visiting Icy Point Strait, I’m glad we did!

Cancel the trip in Juneau was told better chance of seeing whales in Icy straight. Boy was I glad I did. Had them coming close to the boat and great staff. Learn about the island and culture as well. Must see and do. Plus they make you feel like family when you are with them. Would give more stars if I could.
