Loved this hotel. It has truly historic charm. We heard it was haunted, so we did a bit of a ghost hunting investigation while we were there. Only near the ball room did we get any EMF readings, but nothing conclusive. Still, was a lot of fun. Owner was happy to share her stories and give us some history on the place. Also, the breakfast was good. (Highly recommend the cinnamon rolls.)

The building is so neat, our room was very clean and very large. The staff was very friendly and accommodating! We will be staying again!

We arrived in town for the nick dipslo show. We got a room upstairs on 6th floor. Every thing was ok, we were pleased with room and comfort of beds. We came back later that night and we were talking. We noticed a bug crawling up wall near TV. At first we thought it was a fly but upon closer look, it was a roach and it disappeared into the drop ceiling. We got out our light and went over by the refrigerator which was a very dark area of room. There were roaches crawling everywhere including walls and carpet! Big and small. My girl made a video. The sink area on the counter must have had 5 big roaches that scattered when we shined the light on them. It was absolutely disgusting and ww could not pack our stuff and get out of there fast enough. By this time it was 11 pm or so. On the way out, we noticed a bag of garbage that had been left near the elevator that was still sitting there when we arrived and noticed that people were living on the floor. Excellent possibility of cause of roaches. At this point, we didn't even want to stay at another hotel and just drove back home.

This is a unique property. Part of the charm is its age (If I remember correctly, it was built in 1917). However, there are some things that probably should be addressed. The marble stairs leading into the lobby are warped due to age and wear, and could cause someone to lose their balance.

There were antique items throughout the property such as an old switchboard in the lobby.

We noticed some things in our room where the building had been updated to code. This includes having a fire sprinkler system that was installed well after the the original building as there was piping along the ceiling. There was a ramp on the side of the building which could be used with the luggage cart. Again, part of the age off the building, just stating that so people know what to expect.

The service was good. There was a limited selection made-to-order breakfast included with the room. We're vegetarian, so when we asked for no meat the waitress offered us fresh fruit without us asking. This was nice.

Parking is limited and the hotel is on a one-way street.

Overall this hotel is a decent value.

This was an awesome experience! We loved the entranceway, it was like stepping back in time! But when you got to the rooms, they were certainly up to date! They were large and clean with many amenities. The staff was wonderful in every contact. |The only reason I did 4/5 instead of perfect was the lack of ADA accommodations with stairs and such. That would not easily be fixed, I know. But something that would be easy and inexpensive would be a safety rail in the bathtubs. I am not yet to ADA need, but will be in a few years… and I would LOVE to visit again!

They knew an event was in town so marked up the rates but failed to bring in more staff. Was asked to wait 20 minutes at the desk to check in while they served beer (what?)!!! Paid extra for a room with a pullout couch with no bedding which of course we found out at bedtime. Went down to front desk and requested bedding but was told we had to wait while she cooked a pizza. Had to ask two additional times and finally got bedding 30 minutes later.

Hotel rooms are outdated (not in a historic kind of way) and on par with a one star motel.

If you have an option to stay anywhere else… do so.

Great place to stay. Great food options on site and close by other restaurants and shops. Quiet and comfy beds. Staff is nice and helpful. Great breakfast offered with rooms. Internet works just fine and no issues with disconnecting like at other hotels. AC worked well. Parking is a little lacking, only one side of the building had parking where you could just leave your car and forget it. Other areas had 2 hour limits during the day. It never filled up but I could see it doing so on a busy day...
