My husband & I had a wonderful stay here while taking a break from visiting relatives in the Bay Area. We will stay there again if we are in the area.

We loved the pool and jacuzzi, fire pit and the hotel bar and lounge area. Nice extras like the filtered water station were much appreciated. We enjoyed the decor which uses reclaimed wood and has beautiful wood coffee tables and benches. Our room was spacious and comfortable.

The staff were very helpful and pleasant to interact with. I recommend staying here given our positive experience

The hotel is beautifully designed and it’s in a convenient location. It’s almost a 4 star hotel but misses the mark. We booked a suite a month in advance and we got here just to find they didn’t actually hold a suite for us which was very disappointing - we ended up only staying part of the stay. They put us in a tiny loud room facing the parking lot… and I had to specially ask them to refund the suite rate. The typical rooms are decent design but very small. It’s also pretty loud / thin walls. There are nice big windows but people walked by our room constantly so we kept the blinds shut. There’s a beautiful pool area and lounge, the overall aesthetic is nice but it’s really a 3 star hotel with some upgraded design. WiFi is pretty slow so we left in fear we couldn’t work from the room.

*I will amend my review to say that upon checkout the front desk was very understanding and did end up adjusting my rate / acknowledging the issues.

I had an incredible experience staying at this hotel! The rooms were absolutely perfect, easily comparable to a five star standard, with every detail thoughtfully designed for comfort and luxury. The food was delicious, and the service exceeded all expectations.

A special shoutout to the bartender, Rainbow, who truly made my stay unforgettable. Their amazing service, friendly personality, and talent behind the bar added such a vibrant touch to my experience.

I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for top-notch accommodations, excellent dining, and outstanding service. I’ll definitely be back!

Aside from the amazing ambience, beautiful and clean rooms, and perfect location, the real star of the show is the service. The Front Desk was extremely accommodating and upgraded us to a suite, while the bartender, Rainbow, personally located gluten-free breakfast options to accommodate my wheat sensitivity. Five stars all around!

This was our 3rd visit to the Paradox in the past year and we continue to enjoy the hotel. The best features are the style of the hotel: very fun, playful and hip; the restaurant: food is elevated and a great value; and the pool/hot tub area-huge hot tub, heated pool, ample loungers and fluffy towels. Staff is always ready to help, although there can be, from time to time, some communications gaps. The rooms are tiny-not much wiggle room even in the suite (assuming you are having people sleep on the sofabed), but the style is very nice and the bathroom toiletries are above average. Beds are very comfortable and the fast fill stations are great-located on several different floors and conveniently they give you a carafe and glasses to fill up. Parking lot is easy and convenient, but if you don't feel like paying, there is ample street parking in the area. Location is great-downtown is about an 8 minute walk from the hotel. Bonvoy members are recognized and the breakfast offered for elite members is terrific. Not sure about upgrades as we always book the suite. Special shout-out to Lupita and Kim for this stay who helped us get into our favorite room-given the frequency with which we visit, having a familiar room makes it feel like home-thank you!!!

Overall, we had a really good stay here.

Shining the most is the staff, who truly did their best to ensure we had an enjoyable time, and I’d say they went above & beyond.

The pool & hot tub area was nice and inviting.

We did not make it to breakfast, nor dine on property at any point, but did stop by the bar for cocktails; the service & drinks were great.

Rooms were pretty nice overall, and aside for some noise from upstairs (those rolling chairs), as well as the stones in the shower (they look nice, but don’t feel great to stand on), we had no complaints.

The nearby area seems to have improved, as we walked out in the evening, returning pretty late, and didn’t see another person; your experience could vary.

We’ll be back.

We chose this property as my husband was having a medical procedure nearby. The pros: staff were very kind. The cons: property is absolutely filthy. Every floor, surface, stairwell, and the guest room, needs to be deep cleaned. We asked for housekeeping as we are here 5 nights—none is provided even if requested. This is a hotel, so completely inappropriate. When checking in very late, the desk person couldn’t figure out why our room wasn’t booked correctly and a homeless person walked through. My husband was trying to find parking so I was alone, and it was very creepy. Felt very unsafe.

We stayed here on Boxing Day. I felt front desk to be unfriendly and kind of cranky. We got our key and walked to the room. The room and hotel are in need of a renovation. Stained carpets, stains in the shower, mini fridge wasn’t working very well. Do yourself a favour and read the reviews from the last year. Somethings going on for it to decline so bad. The one comment about the furry convention being there and the one customer sharing pictures of them urinating in the furniture is disgusting (This isn’t the hotels fault). We won’t stay here again unless they have new management or a complete Reno. The location was great for us though
