The location of the hotel is not exactly close to Santa Monica beach or the ocean avenue. The rooms had a musty smell coming from the carpets. The bathrooms are old and the air conditioning unit looks dated. Stayed here for 3 nights but could not find out where the cold air came in from at night. The room was freezing in the morning despite the heating at night. The only highlight is the breakfast and the people of the property. Excellent breakfast and very helpful front office people and the concierge. The hotel’s team is its saving grace.

First time visiting Santa Monica and this hotel is great walking access to the beach. It’s located away from busy downtown streets which I enjoy, especially the shops right by Main Street.

The room we have was great size, clean and lovely view! Would come again 🙂

I visited Santa Monica in late October and decided to stay at this hotel because of the price and location. Key word is price. Long story short, the stay was fine no issues. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful, bar was nice, room was slightly above average in my opinion. Pay for the view I guess… at checkout I was charged a destination fee that was ridiculous and I had no clue this was going to be part of the deal until checkout. I booked through Travelocity. One thing I did find online on my flight there was the mandatory valet fees. Had I done some more research I could have gotten the same or better experience at a cheaper hotel. Nothing against the staff, only against the hotel.

We picked this hotel because of location as it is close to Santa Monica pier and other attractions. Hotel is in good condition and the staff is helpful and courteous. It is well maintained . It has small pool with heated water. The prices of food and drinks are high like pretty much in any other hotel we recently stayed at. We experienced one unpleasant event during our stay. We were woken up by loud TV sound around 2 AM coming from a room next to us . As it was not stopping we called the reception after about 15 min. The clerk told us that security would be sent to investigate. It has arrived 5 min after , and we heard knocking on the neighbor's door. As there was no response a phone call was placed. There was no response and the security left. The noise continued. When we called again we were told that there was nothing else they could do other than us to change room. We did not want to pack in the middle of night so we endured another hour of loud nighttime commercials. Our night was wrecked.

Let’s start with the good part. We booked with a suite upgrade and the suite was huge. Front desk and bell staff are lovely. Now for the rest.||There is no window in the bedroom. The main room has a balcony overlooking the hotel driveway and a bunch of soviet-looking apartment blocks. (photo).||You need to press a tiny unmarked button on the side of the temperature bar in the shower for hot water and pressure. If you don’t figure out this clever puzzle, you get to shower under a trickle of freezing water.||Also, in response to the welcome message on my TV, I am not MRS Sarah Anderson. It is not 2019. And it is not zero degrees farenheit in Los Angeles. (photo)||Streaming services on the TV do not work. Netflix and Youtube are supposed to be options, but when I pressed the buttons for them I got an error message. When I asked at the front desk the manager told the desk attendant they hadn’t decided whether or not to renew the contracts so they just didn’t work. (Pro tip for management, when I had streaming issues in a good hotel they offered me a streaming stick — just $17.99 on Black Friday sale!)||HVAC returns are filthy and bent. Pot light over the shower was caked with dirt. Looks like there was no deep clean after renovation. (photo)||The super soft foam bed is incredibly uncomfortable. Like sinking into an overheated bathtub full of styrofoam peanuts.||In short, never staying here again. Just left the beautiful Hyatt Centric in New Orleans and the contrast was stark.

Checked in late on a Friday evening and unfortunately encountered a problem with our reservation as we were accidentally assigned a king room for a family of four. Claudia part of the management team was quick to work to resolve the issue was incredibly supportive helpful and understanding. She worked quickly to accomodate us and ensure the rest of our stay was addressed. In getting to the room, Luis was so helpful getting a roll out bed set up, bringing extra towels and was just a star. Both of them were champions for the Marriott brand and a key reason for why I return to their hotels as frequently as possible.

Lobby is beautiful with a restaurant with a fresh and filling breakfast. Pool was quiet with lots of space. Room was clear, comfortable and well decorated.

Stayed the night of September 21 for work. Outstanding stay. From check in to check out it was a fantastic experience. Front desk staff were great. Hotel restaurant and bar was the best and our bartender, Flower, was amazing. She was so friendly and efficient and took care of the entire bar with a great attitude and personality and fantastic service! Highly recommend staying here and even if you don't stay, stop in the bar and say hi to Flower and have a drink or a bite!

This hotel, formerly known as the Meridian and owned by Marriott, has recently been acquired by Hyatt. Unfortunately, we were unaware of this change when we booked our stay through Expedia Vacations. We paid extra for a quiet, upper-level room, but upon arrival, we discovered that most of the upper floors were under renovation. Consequently, we were assigned a third-floor room, despite the hotel having over ten floors. When I voiced my concerns, the front desk staff offered a three-day waiver on the daily service fee of $40 USD.

Although the hotel offers free WiFi, morning coffee, weekend hot chocolate, a pool, and a small games room for kids, there is a daily charge of $40 USD, and parking costs around $75 USD. Given its convenient location—a 15-minute walk to the Santa Monica Pier and close to transit—we didn't need a car. The service was satisfactory, but the hotel is clearly showing its age. The pool did not match the images on the website, and we were disappointed with the food at the restaurant.

Overall, it's an okay hotel, but I would recommend waiting until after the renovations are complete to visit. Additionally, upon check-out, the staff had difficulty printing my receipt. Although they promised to email it to me, it's been a day, and I still haven't received it.
