I was in town for a wedding and stayed at this location. I was so excited to be bring my daughter and granddaughter to a 3 star hotel for the weekend. The lady at the desk was amazing. She had us checked in in minutes and up to our room we went. Well my bubble was popped as soon as we walked in the room. It smelled like an old cellar. The carpet was disgusting, there were little black curly hairs all over the shower, the floor in the bathroom was dirty. There were 3 of us staying yet we had two towels and one wash clothes. I called for more and was told they would be right there. We had to go to the rehearsal dinner and came back to the room and still no towels. I had to call again. When they brought up the towels and sheets for the pull out bed, the sheets and blanket were either stained or had holes in them.
I went to wash my face and could have pulled the faucet right out of the sink. A sink that didn’t drain. There was a dog barking all day Saturday.
But the real kicker was the roaches we found the day we were leaving. I went down to talk to someone about a refund and the woman just about laughed at me. My son and his family were in another room just down the hall and said their refrigerator and microwave didn’t work. Neither did their coffee pot. The alarm clock was set on the floor and he said there wasn’t anywhere to plug it in. I feel like I paid good money for this weekend that was a joyous occasion but the room was not worth what I paid. Oh and the pool was green and couldn’t be used. I DO NOT recommend this location.
Rooms 214 and 222.

The service was good, and the beds were comfortable, which we appreciated. However, the refrigerator was oddly placed in the middle of the floor due to outlet issues, which made the room feel cluttered. Additionally, the door had to be slammed several times before it would close properly. The elevatorhad screws backing out on the panels. Overall, it was a decent stay, but a few maintenance updates would make a big difference.

Very noisy. You can hear all street noises! Breakfast is very poor. No meat options (sausage or beacon), no bread options as well. We were not late for the breakfast! They really need repair, everything is old. Everything is outdated. The personal was very polite, though.

This place gave the distinct impression of staff that just doesn't care. The rooms were... fine. It's Clearly an older hotel that they've put some lipstick on. But the whole place felt a little dirty and dingy.

The fitness room had a pile of leaves and dirt that had blown in from the exterior door which no one had bothered to sweep. The baseboard behind the bathroom door had a layer of dust. The pool had leaves and bugs floating in it. The hallway outside our room reeked of weed. The breakfast was lacking, and the weirdest part was there was no one at the front desk pretty much the entire day. When we first arrived, we waited 10 minutes in front of an empty desk for someone to show up and give us our keys. The rest of the day going in and out, we never saw a single staff member.

This hotel wasn't terrible, but it certainly wasn't worth the per night price they're charging

Positive review here! Almost did not make this location our 1 night stop over following review search. Party of 2 adults. Baffled with the negativity past two mos on here 🙁 We are Hyatt folks accustomed to Grande/Regency level. Firstly, this location is not an original Hyatt many yrs ago converted from a buy out.
Yes it’s older and shows on the inside compared to present day HPs. But it was clean, stocked with necessities and staff was pleasant and professional. (Ms Jameriah greeted us and Ms Rebecca checked us out both sincere and with smiles on faces). Plenty of parking in front and back of building. Safe area well lit around perimeter. Good location, nice food choices around and large Regency Mall and Movies across the street.
Did not look at pool spot outside but saw several umbrella tables around.
Room does have older carpet (I always wear slippers anyway) and sofa living area has some scuffs on walls and I did see a stain one area of it ( does everyone have a perfectly spotless sofa at their home 24/7? Bathroom area towels for 3 and everything in good working order. (There were no extra toiletries (besides bar soaps) however like lotion/shower cap/q tips etc one often sees). Absolutely no old looking/broken tiles or mildew of any kind. AC very comfortable we had it on 68. Exact same layout as all other HPs we have stayed in FL and OH. (Larger folks might have difficulty in shower toilet area its tight with open and close of door). Was very crowded upon check in 8pm, sev kids sports teams. Our room located on 5th floor (503) was near a stairwell and elev short distance oppos end and did not hear any noises while in room. I have impeccable hearing btw lol. Walking hallways there was music noises from somewhere. Brkfst good simple selection seen in all HPs. 2 gals working it one keeping tables cleared and cleaned. THIS HOTEL IS SCHEDULED FOR A RENOVATION END OF YEAR. I was told rooms/entryway lounge area/walkways and so on. Folks lets be more positive in life and thank those working in this oftentimes difficult industry.

Two stars is generous. We almost left to find another property, but it was so late when we arrived, we decided to tough it out. Believe the reviews and stay somewhere else. Room wasn't ready on time. No body wash or toilet paper inside. Room near elevator and you could hear the elevator ALL NIGHT LONG. Linens were sparse and house keeping didn't come the whole time we were there, even though we asked them to service the room. Hotel seems dirty, worn, and old. I spoke with the very kind manager and she was as helpful as could be, as was her staff, but this property needs a LOT of attention and I won't stay here again!

I usually stay at a Marriott property when I come to Birmingham but my desired hotel was sold out for the weekend so I came here instead (after a pleasant stay at Hyatt Place many years ago). In short, the front desk staff is nice but this hotel needs a little work. The security lock in our room was a little loose. The sink stopper was dysfunctional. Housekeeping never came back to clean my room after we asked them to. They had Eggo waffles for breakfast instead of the traditional Belgian waffle maker that I'm used to at practically every other hotel that offers free breakfast. Further, they didn't even have cold water available at breakfast on my last day there.

This location falls far below the quality and standards expected from the Hyatt brand. We stayed here years ago and decided to return last night, but the experience was extremely disappointing. The property was in complete disarray. Management needs to be replaced, and the entire staff retrained. The room had stained carpets, an empty toilet paper roll that wasn’t replaced, and completely empty toiletry bottles. Even the elevators were dirty. We ultimately chose not to eat the complimentary breakfast, assuming it would reflect the same lack of care and cleanliness. Hyatt needs to take immediate action to restore this property or consider closing it altogether.
