Grocery store portion is good. Grocery and deli workers are great. But the lady that cooks breakfast early Sunday was one of the rudest and most unhappy people I have ever experienced. We ordered a side of sausage, sourdough, and fresh fruit and she yelled that she can’t accommodate everyone’s “special needs”. Avoid the kitchen. Rest of the store is really great.

High schoolers have a right to work, but they need to be managed properly. You can see the difference between the high schoolers here and the high schoolers at other Pella stores. Most of the high schoolers who operate the register at the Pella Hy-Vee seem not to care, and are extremely careless with the groceries while checking you out. This really is the worst grocery store in Pella for this reason. For the most part, because of this, I am now going elsewhere, unless I have to go there for time reasons, even though I used to prefer Hy-Vee. Also, Hy-Vee no longer carries Tones spices, which is a backstab to Iowa businesses.

I gave Hyvee..two stars because, They sent my check to the great Iowa Treasury...because they could not find me ..( because of personal reasons)
I personally feel this way because it sucks... I really need THAT money RIGHT NOW! 🙏

Decent selection, nice clean store. Staff is friendly when you seek them out, otherwise they act like you don't exist. No matter the time of day or day of week, you are guaranteed they will be short on help at the check out line and will have to wait to check out. I've said for years they need to send their entire staff to Fareway to learn what real customer service looks like.

Hi I am making this review not to get anyone in trouble or fired, I want Hy Vee to train their team better! My wife doesn’t shop a lot at Hyvee and wanted to buy some paper napkins and ask two employees where the napkins are and they replied I am new here I don’t know where they are at. It’s a true statement they didn’t, so if the employee doesn’t know something they should be taught to find someone who does know. This skill isn’t taught in schools has to be taught in business. Again don’t want anyone in trouble just trained! Love you guys at Hyvee that’s why I posted this!

Good selection for a small town and it is one of the stores we can find some non-animal tested brands at as well as a few free range organic options. Appreciate the helpful staff and small feel compared to the only other option on Sundays *but* have always, always had a problem at any HyVee in a city or small town with honoring their sales specials. For some reason they often are not in the system or are not in there at the correct price and if you go through self-checkout or aren't watching the monitor with a cashier you feel a bit duped when you get out 🫤 and yes, this happens even if you put in your "fuel saver" card.
