If you are at ALL considering this experience, do yourself a favor and book it! I had the best weekend adventuring around North Georgia with Luis— he made the experience so incredible. I had originally planned on going as a solo traveler, but rescheduled and asked my cousin to go with me. If you are nervous about going by yourself, don’t let that stop you from taking this trip. I immediately felt comfortable and had a blast! I would go again by myself in a heartbeat.
Also- I am very far from being a “granola” girl (my cousin and I brought makeup for Sunday morning in our tent). I have very little experience camping, and Luis met us at our level, was so nice answering all of our camping questions, and we shared tons of laughs. He took some incredible photos of us on his professional camera and drone. He cooked some delicious meals and we had tons of great conversations. Driving back, we all joked that it felt like we had spent a week together. It was the perfect relaxing recharge, and I couldn’t recommend this trip enough!

I met Luis out in the wild and immediately knew he was rad. I went on a guided tour through the north Georgia mountains with him and it did not disappoint. Beautiful views, crisp fresh air and a tour guid with a ton of knowledge that made the experience one of a kind. Inca 4x4 has awesome adventure equipment for camping and overlanding. I’ve had the utility bag on the back of my truck for a couple of years and it has held up on several trips including a cross country tour. If you are looking into doing a guided tour just do it. It’s an amazing experience.

The Best Adventure yet! It was by accident that I had stumbled upon Luis’s Inca 4x4 weekend retreat and it was literally the perfect getaway to recover, be one with nature, and escape the world around us.

Luis was kind enough to allow me to ride the FJ Cruiser (they don’t sell them in the US anymore). It was definitely a fun ride with excellent suspensions for a comfortable drive. Day 1 was excellent! We started our journey early. The ride was delightful. We stopped at a view point and had breakfast there. Although the view was not very clear, due to the clouds, Luis’s breakfast and hot chocolate DEFINITELY made up for it!

My favorite part of this trip was the off-roading and traversing the uneven landscapes. It has inspired me to someday invest in a 4x4 Jeep. Side note, if interested, speak to Luis about Jeep’s! He’s very knowledgeable. Once we finally got to the camp site, the views were BREATHTAKING! So serene and so magnificent. We felt as though we were on top of the world.

After the tents were set up, the campfire kept us warm and Luis had marshmallows which was amazing! The dinner is to die for! All made from Luis’s family shop in Fayetteville (Rosa’s Home Cooking). Once again, the food was delicious and literally to die for!! As the light faded, the darkness brought out the stars and planets! Will definitely bring a telescope for next time. Luis had lights set up as well which made it very homey and quaint. The Peruvian blankets kept us warm in our tents.

After a restful sleep, we woke up to a beautiful but chilly morning, however the hot chocolate, fire and breakfast definitely warm you up. We packed up and said goodbye to the beautiful view. For Day 2, we travelled to the Appalachian Trail! We stopped by 2 really cool stores! FYI, get the kettle corn and a souvenir! The hike on the Appalachian Trail was not too bad. We only hiked up to a random house that Luis said he would someday turn into an Airbnb 🙂 It took us approx 4 hours in total. But definitely worth the hike! We even had the honor of meeting Luis’s dad on FaceTime while on top and even take some exceptional pictures.

Overall, it was definitely a wonderful and wholesome experience. Luis gave us an escape from reality, a form of therapy for those in need, and a way to be one with nature. Luis, thank you for creating a peace and giving me an experience I will never forget. Thank you for your friendship as well! Will DEFINITELY be doing this again!
