I cannot say enough good things about Jim Cline Photo Tours. I have been on 2 tours with the company, and I just booked my 3rd only a week after returning from the 2nd. It was that good! The first tour was to Oaxaca for Day of the Dead. Jim himself led the trip. He has been there so many times and cultivated so many relationships, that it allowed us to have experiences you wouldn't get on just any tour. As Day of the Dead is really about visiting the cemeteries where families are gathering to honor their relatives who have passed, it could feel intrusive. However because Jim personally knew the families and introduced us to them, they welcomed all of us into what would otherwise be a very personal family affair. The culmination of the tour was one hour at Monte Alban at sunset for our group ONLY. It was unbelievably special and something that I doubt you'd get with just any photo tour. It just goes to show how Jim Cline goes the extra mile. My most recent trip was to Colombia lead by Christopher Baker. As expected, the quality of the tour was outstanding. Chris was an excellent photo guide and instructor. It goes to show that Jim puts a lot of thought into who he trusts to lead his tours. That tour required a lot of internal flights, moving hotels etc. Chris and local guide Alex handled it so smoothly so that we didn't have to worry about a thing. The photo opportunities were outstanding and the itinerary very well thought out. Having returned with COVID from a photo tour with a different company a couple of months before, I was pleased with how Jim Cline Tours was diligent about ensuring the health and safety of all of us. 12 days together traveling around Colombia and no one got COVID!! I've just booked my 3rd tour to Cuba early next year, and I have no doubts that it will be just as magical as the other two. If you're considering a trip with Jim Cline Photo Tours, do yourself a favor and book it!! You won't regret it!!

I have travelled several times with Jim Cline photo tours. They have been the most amazing experiences! I have been able to go places, meet people and see things that I would never have had access to in my own. The preparation and management of these tours is exceptional. Recently I travelled to Peru with Jim. Although there were several instances where circumstances in the country required immediate changes of itinerary Jim was able to handle these and adapt the trip so that we , as participants, had an exceptional experience. Every time I have travelled on one of the Jim Cline tours I have vibrated with the excitement of the wonderful experiences I have been exposed to. I will continue to travel with this exceptional company. As a photographer the experience is second to none! My husband has travelled with me and even as a non photographer he has been thrilled with the wonderful experiences we have had.

I have traveled to Cuba twice with Jim Cline Tours, in 2017 and 2019. Both trips were outstanding experiences. They were well organized, small group tours offered at a fair price. Because Jim has traveled so many times to the locations of his tours he has developed relationships with many people at the tour locations. One of the joys of the second trip to Cuba was renewing acquaintances with people I had met on the first trip. Beyond the good photography, the Cuba trips were great fun. I will travel with Jim Cline Tours again in the future.

My wife and I have completed seven great Jim Cline photo trips all over the world from Mexico & Cuba to Southeast Asia and Papua New Guinea. We’ve traveled with many companies, and I must say Jim’s the best: best organized; best itineraries; best “special experiences” (e.g., visits with local families, and far off the beaten path celebrations); best photo instruction and tips, and critically, most caring and fun. Jim is absolutely unique in how much support he provides each client, which reflects his caring personality. Also unique is Jim’s depth of relationships with people in the places he visits - he’s been going to some places for 20+ years and takes pictures of individuals and families each visit. He then shares copies of these photos when he returns each year - the excited faces of people when they see Jim and his group coming are a joy to behold!

In 2011, I was looking for my first photo tour and selected Jim Cline Photo Tours because they had such positive reviews and all their trips seemed to sell out so quickly. I went to SE Asia with Karl Grobl. I was so impressed with all the photo opportunities, as well as the cultural experiences the trip provided. Since then I've participated in several JCPTs - each trip exceeded my expectations and I returned home with improved photography skills, some wonderful photographs, great memories and new friends.

Both Jim and Karl are committed to providing everyone with a positive experience and excellent photo opportunities. Over the years I've been impressed not only with the quality of each trip, but the way in which both Jim and Karl relate to the local people in each country, learning some of the local language, building long term relationships and returning with photographs from previous trips to give to the people. It's not surprising that they have so much repeat business and friends in every community!

I now consider both Jim and Karl my friends, and I'm looking forward to my trip to Oaxaca with Jim next month.
