I recently had the pleasure of working with Katherine for my big day by hiring her as a partial wedding planner.

First and foremost, I cannot express how flawlessly the ceremony rehearsal and wedding day was executed. Every detail was meticulously taken care of. Katherine and her assistant ensured that everything ran smoothly from start to finish. The vendors were well-coordinated, the wedding party knew where they were supposed to go (first look, group photos, etc), and the timeline was on-point. It was truly a stress-free experience and for that I am incredibly grateful. The month of the wedding, she took the lead in reaching out to the vendors by providing them with the finalized wedding timeline and details list. Additionally, she provided some great suggestions that I hadn’t thought about. For example, for our wedding desserts, we had ice-cream. She recommended that we serve the ice-cream on bowls rather than on a cone, so there is less of a chance for any messes (ice-cream melting or falling on the carpet/dance floor).

Katherine was always so attentive, following-up with the vendors, and answering all of my questions (no matter how big or small). While Katherine was responsive to my inquiries, I had anticipated more valuable creative input and suggestions to bring our wedding vision to life. During our initial consultation, I emphasized the importance of assistance with the creative aspects and design of the wedding. Specifically, I sought guidance on decorations that would enhance the venue space while staying within our budget. As someone who was new to wedding planning, I had expected more guidance and suggestions to help bring my vision to life and/or be more proactive in giving design suggestions to add to the wedding theme. While the wedding day itself turned out to be absolutely perfect, I must admit that the overall planning experience fell a bit short from my expectations.

That being said, Katherine’s executed during the rehearsal ceremony and wedding day itself cannot be overlooked. The professionalism and attention to detail exhibited on those days were commendable, and it made all the difference in creating a truly memorable experience for me and my guests. Ultimately, my wedding day was magical and everything went so smoothly.

Kat was such an incredible coordinator.

We were one of those couples whose wedding date landed in the COVID lockdown. We found Kat before the lockdown at a bridal expo and immediately hit it off. She was so easy to talk to and personable. It was important to us to like our coordinator and she fit the bill! We hired her right away as a day-of coordinator and shortly after, the pandemic hit us. We had to postpone our wedding date for THREE YEARS. She honored her original price and stuck with us the whole time.

When it came time to start planning again she was right there ready to go. She encouraged us to reach out to her about any questions we had about any aspect of the wedding. She was available via email, text, phone call, you name it. Planning a wedding is like a small infinity of work. Each task seems to generate three or four more tasks. But Kat was there with answers and options to help us navigate the whole experience. She provided so much help and assurance while planning. By the time the day had arrived she had developed a very detailed timeline with a plan for everything and a contingency plan for every plan. It was certain that nothing would go wrong, and nothing did. Not a single thing was missed.

On the day of, I could swear there were twenty copies of her and she’d been working since 5am. Of course that wasn’t true but her efficiency and attention to detail was so great that it seemed so. She came with two assistants and so while she was busy managing me and the bride, and both our wedding parties, and our parents, she was also managing her team. Her and her team did our centerpieces, she made sure we (two wedding parties, bride and groom, parents) were in the right place at the right time, knew where we were going next and what was going to happen, and that nothing was missing. She also made sure we had coffee, water, food, beer, whatever. All my wife and I had to worry about was how to say our vows through all the happy tears.

I will forever recommend Kat for anybody’s wedding and I already have. She is amazing. Hire her!

If you need someone detail oriented, great at their job and super positive, Katherine is the coordinator for you! I used Joyous weddings as my day of coordinator. Katherine went above and beyond what I had asked of her. She was flexible in being able to pivot locations of our reception last minute and even decorated the bathrooms with left over flowers. It was such a special touch. I really felt like she was looking out for me. Katherine was incredibly calm throughout the whole process. An absolute wonderful person to have by your side on your wedding day!

For those of you wondering what the work ethic of this business is like, know that they will do anything to meet your budget needs and get you the event of your dreams. Weddings and big events are hard to plan and budget for, but they are harder when you don't have someone to navigate the system, bargain, and set realistic expectations.

Getting a coordinator for my sister's wedding was the blessing we didn't know we needed. KDV made sure things were up the way we wanted, spotted incongruences ahead of time to avoid disasters (you don't know what you don't know), and handled all venue communication in a clear, consistent, and respectful manner.
