The service was great. The breakfast was made nicely and I enjoyed the food. I was so glad to have a microwave and fridge in the room. The hotel isn't luxurious but it's simple and what makes it very valuable is the breakfast, the service, the ability to get to downtown and museums in new haven so easily which was my priority to explore more of new haven. Its near the new haven union station as well which is easier for me when traveling. There was restaurants nearby and gas station. It's east to walk about and do activies near the hotel. It was also quiet. I enjoyed it.

Went here for a weekend excursion (3 days) and was pleasantly surprised. Bedding, room, bathroom, and main lobby were very clean and quiet. I did not partake in breakfast. My room was on the 6th floor so I had a lovely view of the wharf and sunrise/sunset.
I had low expectations for the price considering other options in the area, but was blown away by how nice it turned out to be. The shower was clean and the water was hot. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Would stay again.

I drove a very long way to get to New Haven 14 hrs. Once my husband and I were at the hotel we were greeted by two very kind and courteous gentleman! They accommodated us expeditiously! My room was clean, and the bed was heavenly! Definitely booking here again hands down!! The breakfast the following morning was excellent! We had sausage, waffles, hard boiled eggs, and a blueberry muffin... It was also cereal (a variety).

I guess there's no cleaning of the rooms is swaying people to Airbnb? My garbage was left there for 2 days. My rooms weren't clean. No towels were freshened up. This is unprofessional. They sent me plenty emails and notifications. If I want to upgrade and pay more money but not one notification. Would you like your room cleaned?

The room was okay for a two-star hotel. The launch of the lock was falling off and the beds were very uncomfortable. This was my first time staying at this property and definitely going to be my last. I'm sorry. The front desk was helpful in providing us with the accessories that we needed that weren't provided

Nice and clean hotel with good waterfront view. Check-in was flawless and fast. The front desk manager was extremely helpful and tried her best to make customers happy. ||Room is spacious and clean. Only complaint is the elevator: it's old and slow, stops at almost every single floor on its own!

I stayed at the LaQuinta in New Haven, Connecticut, from 12/18/24 until 12-19-24 in room 406, while in town for a funeral service for my aunt and my experience was quite difficult due to several issues:

1. My family and I felt uneasy when we noticed a man lingering outside the building, giving off suspicious vibes. The front desk staff member, Mani, was also on edge, standing in the lobby with a baseball bat.

2. The room's ceiling and the dining area, where the continental breakfast is served, were stained with a black mold-like substance, and the paint was peeling.

3. The bathtub had an unremovable brown residue, which forced my family and me to wash up at the sink instead.

4. Although our room was a non-smoking one, we discovered a burn hole in the mattress and several stains resembling urine. There was also a burn mark on the tub.

5. The pull-out couch was made of wool and extremely dirty, to the point that I had to use a hotel towel to sit on it.

6. I noticed other guests dining with their dogs, which felt unsanitary while eating.

7. Additionally, some guests had pets roaming on the lawn without cleaning up after them. I unfortunately stepped in pet waste and ended up transferring it into my car.

Overall, these issues made our stay quite challenging, and the only thing that could be offered is a very, very small discount which was an insult and did not solve anything. Moreover I have photos as well that I do not mind sharing.

Came to visit family. Saw that the hotel had a view of the New London Sound. It was beautiful. Welcome was nice, room clean. No issues. Staff welcomed our attempt to checkin early but our flight was delayed due to weather. They refunded our fee.

Avoid this place at all costs. We arrived and immediately felt unsafe before even stepping out of the car. We were excited to do a pizza tour in New Haven but unfortunately, there were no other hotels available so we decided to check in thinking maybe the room would be fine for one night. The front desk staff didn't know what they were doing. Once we got to the door of our room (#415 for reference), the peephole was falling out of the door from the outside. You could literally take it out of the door so there would just be a hole in the door looking directly into our room, and giving some the ability to break in if they wanted to. We immediately decided that this place was not safe and went in to game plan what to do next. Upon entering, the room smelt like a lot of bleach and there was a used, dirty rag left on the desk. The shower had mold on it and the toilet water had black specks once flushed. It was DISGUSTING. We immediately checked out and the hotel front desk didn't try to persuade us otherwise, likely because they are used to this happening. I think we spent a total of 10 minutes inside this hotel and it was 10 minutes too long.
We requested a refund due to not spending the night here for all the reasons listed above. As you would expect, they must not have working security cameras because they rejected our request because they "have it on record we did stay the night." A refund should be the least they could do for the experience at this place. AVOID THIS DISGUSTING, UNSAFE, SAD EXCUSE FOR A HOTEL AT ALL COSTS.
