I saw the partial eclipse in 2017 from a truck stop parking lot and vowed that I'd travel somewhere to be in the totality for the eclipse of 2024. After a lot of research and looking at historical weather patterns, my kids and I finally settled on Arkansas as the place to go. There were a ton of places we could have gone to, but we ultimately settled on the Lake Banoe Lavender Farm and I couldn't have been more happy with that decision. The owners, Denny and Ida, were amazingly hospitable to their guests; the farm itself is beautiful and peaceful; and the people that I met that weekend were among the best that I could have hoped for. I'm not sure when I'll make it back down from Minnesota, but when that time comes the kids and I already have Lake Banoe as one of our places to visit. I only wish that the lavender would have been in bloom in early April, but I guess that's just another reason to visit!

I was sorely disappointed with my visit to this place. Maybe it was my high expectation of the place. It is nothing like what I saw on the website. The buildings and lake are there, but the facility as a whole has not been maintained. There are only 2 acres of lavender. I expected fields as far as the eye can see. Lake Banoe can be a beautiful place with a lot of TLC.

The wedding was beautiful. This place has great potential. The venue was run down, dangerous, and poorly run. A guest was injured due to owner negligence. Many broken windows, all pathways were swampy. Brides suite was under construction. The grooms suite was in the process of being built and only about half done.

Talk a big nurhin' Pictures of fields of lavender. Drive 2 hours to see 15 miserable plants scattered around a grassy area with lotsa people selling unrelated things.... like gutters. Avoid.
