I interned for Laurie from end of January - mid March. I had to work 8 hours a week required by my school and Laurie said she wanted me to get compensation for some of my work so she had me scheduled an extra 4 hours a week which I’d be paid 22/hour for. In the span of a month and a half I worked 16 hours over the 8 a week. I was also promised compensation for the miles I drove for her while interning at .54 cents a mile. I drove 60 miles for her. Laurie let me go mid March and I found out through a call from my school not from her directly. I asked her if I can be compensated for the hours I did work and she said I don’t deserve it for not completing my internship and that was what we agreed on. I asked her multiple times over text for a couple of weeks to show me where we agreed on that and then she proceeded to block me. I’m owed around $400 from Laurie that she is withholding from me!! Beware if you are interning for her!

I had the chance to intern with Laurie, but unfortunately, my experience was marred by a lack of compensation for my work. While I understand there were areas where I didn’t meet expectations, I still dedicated time and effort, and it’s disappointing that I was not paid for my contributions.
