First time trip. Very organized for a holiday weekend. Had a great time. Only critique is the water is pretty fast at the pull out point once completed. Definitely a must try if you have not been there.

We had a lot of fun. The river moves right along. We would have liked more guidance on knowing there were forks in the river and also how to navigate one swift moving piece under a bridge. This is not a guided tour and knowing a little about kayaking is a good idea prior to going. We did the 8 mile trip and it took about 4 hours.

Had one of the best group canoe and kayak trips I've ever had at this location! Family owned and they will go the extra mile to make you comfortable and happy! Heavy Metal Church had such a great time we are planning on going three times a year now on their amazing 11 mile adventure!

I like coming here because you pay per boat/kayak instead of per person. Honestly, the river is wonderful. It’s pretty, it’s not a difficult canoe ride, and you’ll easily be able to navigate it even on days where the water is running faster than normal, like when we were there most recently.

I guess I wished there were more places to stop and rest. We went out on the water for a lazy float down the river, and we had a great time stopping and skipping rocks, but it didn’t feel like there were enough places to do that.

I did appreciate that they drive you up to your starting point and you paddle down back toward the rental shop. You only have to deal with the van ride one way, and once you’re done, you can go to your car and go home if you want. I preferred that to other places that pick you up at your stopping point.

I will absolutely come back for more canoeing and kayaking adventures!

Great river! Clear cold water. Some fast currents and some chill water. We did the 8 mile and it has 2 great rapids too! Nice people and nice dogs!

We were a couple mins later for our reservation and the customer service was amazing on still helping us. I also lost my wallet and they found it. The River also was very beautiful with clear water. I highly recommend!!!

Showed up, and they were sold out of kayaks. You need to make a reservation or show up very early if you go on a weekend. 4 stars because they were nice enough about it and gave us other options for canoes. But they really need a website with more coherent information about reservations and things. Their Facebook does not have enough up-to-date information.

This experience has been awful. I paid for this experience so my kids could have a memorable Labor Day and I’m sitting here waiting to enter the water because either somebody took a canoe they shouldn’t have or somebody at mad River made a mistake and didn’t pack enough canoes. We checked in and there was absolutely no instructions. She also tried to charge us $50 per canoe for an 11 mile when we reserved an 8 mile for $45 per canoe. I Can get passed that, honest mistake, but then I had to ask every single question that should have been covered during check in. Do we need to grab our own paddle? Where do we go? Confirmed the departure time etc.. then they load up the vans and there isn’t enough room for my family of six. They had to drive a separate van for us. Now we are sitting here waiting at least 30 minutes for them to go get another canoe. Instead of them just making everyone share their reservation information they just let whomever take off in our 3rd canoe. $135 for a trip that’s so far been awful. I tried to call to request a discount/refund for at least one canoe and it’s a stupid voicemail. I’m severely irritated and just overall disappointed in Mad River!
