When booking online I was not informed that I needed to check in downstairs and also on the second floor I checked in on the second floor and apparently they did not check to see if I was already checked in downstairs my appointment was canceled after I sat with three sick children and they're waiting room for almost 30 minutes because the lady at the desk on the second floor did not do her job horrendous I will never be back here again this hospital is nothing but a joke missed a tubal pregnancy that I had to have my tube and ovary removed because it ruptured due to their mishap. The hospital is so bad I always drive to Pella which is over 20 minutes further away to get appropriate care

Dr. Taylar Swartz Summers and Mary were amazing. I felt completely at ease. They took my concerns seriously and made an appointment I was extremely nervous about a breeze. I would recommend their team to anyone.

Awesome hospital. Can’t imagine going anywhere else for primary care. Dr.Z is my primary and one of the absolute best. Dr. Breon hands down one of the best docs around as well. So many great people it’s hard to list them all in one review. I highly recommend this place.

I went to the ER due to pain in my right side. I have to commend the nurse that was on duty in the ER. She had incredible bedside manner and made me feel at ease the whole time I was there. I eventually had a emergency surgery to remove my gallbladder. As i was being prepped for my surgery the nurse staff that was on duty was also very sweet and had incredible bedside manner as well. I wish I remembered the names of these staff members to give them the credit they deserve. My OR male nurse was exceptional. He held my hand until I drifted off to sleep. I also have to give credit to the anesthesiologist and surgeon for their complete kindness throughout my process.

As a local, independent medical provider and having relatives and patients receive care at Mahaska, I am very thankful for their quality, compassion, and patient and community focus! We are very blessed to have the good people who work Mahaska Health a great hospital.

I needed to do an MRI, the doctor did not offer any other clinics where I could do it cheaper, my bill came out to be an MRI of the lumbar region without contrast 3360 although the average price in Iowa is from 600 to 1500, I also went to Pella and there in the hospital the same MRI scan costs $977 and you pay 200 with insurance , this hospital is trying to steal your money, all prices are inflated, in four visits my condition worsened to the point that I had to call 911 and for some reason they took me to this clinic where the prices were again inflated I had no choice at all when I asked how much an MRI costs the doctor answered I don’t know anything, the service is misleading you as much as possible in order to bill you more, in 4 visits to the hospital nothing helped me and with each visit my condition worsened, I suffered with pain for two weeks my sleep was ragged I experienced torment and pain

from the first visit they could not recognize the cause for two weeks while I was going to them my condition worsened, no one was interested in dealing with the cause, I was especially struck by the fact that without knowing the exact diagnosis they tried to send me to physiotherapy although in the acute phase of a herniated disc the first two weeks any loads are absolutely contraindicated

I can't thank everyone enough for giving me the best care possible. My doctors Dr. Godejohn and Dr. Summers were truly amazing. The nurses were all outstanding, caring and passionate. Best experience I have ever had. Would recommend the hospital, doctors and nurses to anyone. Thank you!

There isn't a place in the area I would trust more than Mahaska Health for my family's care. Dr. Hannah Thompson is a dream - she truly listens, is kind and is highly knowledgeable. She has a passion for obstetrics and has delivered our last two babies. She made both of those experiences - from the first appointment to delivery - so positive and calm, keeping me informed and also allowing me an healthy level of autonomy in decision-making along the way. While in the hospital during deliveries, everyone I encountered, from the CRNA's, the dining team, the nurses - and even the on-site newborn photographer was so kind and helpful.
We are blessed to have this hospital in our community!
