I had my wedding at the Marez Event Center on 11/25/23 and words cannot describe how happy I was with the outcome. The owner and the staff were beyond kind and helpful. From suggesting runners the day before, providing me the idea to display my dessert table in a private room, and helping me with day of coordination to ensure we got all items on our timeline completed. I was also comfortable enough to text her and have her notify the DJ the songs we wanted for our grand entrance (Teresa really it made it feel like we were friends). But it was not only the big things, but it was the little things that they did that meant so much. Teresa’s husband put some fruit to the side for us so that we could also enjoy when we were done greeting our guest. When the food was served, he made sure we ate because he knew the bride and groom typically get so busy that they tend to forget, that was the sweetest thing. They were both very attentive the day of a made sure the guest were having a great time! By the way, the food was AMAZING!

I loved the bartenders, they were so fun and vibrant that I honestly loved going up to get a drink and chat with them.

Where do I start ?
For this being a new venue it is expensive 1.
What is included is not alot.
The food served at my event tasted like it had been cooked the day before.
It was our wedding and my husband and I were not served first.
There is no organization with the manager she is all over the place. Never has a notebook to take notes during meetings it is very concerning.
She told one of my guests there was only fruit because i didnt pay for appetizers to be served before dinner.
Professionalism awful going back and forth in text messages instead of being solution driven and making it right.
Example she was including a "free" cake to seal the deal! She had sent my husband a text with a list of flavors. We chose them this was an event for 300 ppl so we got a tiered cake and 2 side cakes. Well one of the options she said wasn't in her list even though it was. They went back and forth and her resolution was giving us a check for $900 and expressing she was "done"
We paid you $25k you cant just be "done " extremely unprofessional.
READ YOUR CONTRACT! She did not explain that the 2 million dollars worth of coverage was not included.
Get your own event insurance. The phone number given was to a guy that was completely unprofessional I went through google got more days covered and paid $175 instead of the $335 from her recommendation and it was the exact same company.
Bar service that they provided was absolutely terrible my ceremony started at 2 so bar should have been stocked up and ready the night before or early that morning.
They rolled in at 1:30 and were not ready to serve until 4 and the beers were warm
By 530 they were already running out of basics like Pacifico. Also bar was EXPENSIVE service was slow. There were so many negatives I could go on and on.

HAVING AN EVENT HERE.

The place is actually pretty nice, my big plus was the temperature control they had throughout the whole event. If it got too hot / cold, it was immediately fixed.

The airflow of the center was also nice, no stagnant smells, it can get pretty bad when you got 40+ people dancing. Been to other event centers and my biggest issues are always temperature and ventilation, no one wants to be in a big hot room with other guests. You won't have that concern here, that's for sure.

The event manager was always moving about, she came to my table a few times asking if we were doing ok. The waiters were also active, never had an empty glass. Food was great, can't really complain about what they provided. I love the fruit that was there, I had plenty of that before the meal, stomach was happy. Alcohol selection was based off what the host wanted and it was pretty good.

The host also had a reasonable meal time so we weren't all just dancing and drinking waiting for food, I arrived a bit late but still had time for fruit and ice cold drinks before the main meal was served. Overall I had a great time, might consider this place for an event of my own with a few changes. The place was great, food was delicious, the drinks were strong, the event manager was attentive.

I recommend Marez Event Center to others looking for a nice event center here in Oxnard. I'm happy as long as my guest are happy and taken care of.

Marez Event Center is the place to hold your event. From start to finish Teresa took care of making sure my daughter's sweet sixteen was one she will never forget. She and her staff, including her husband (who is great, and if you get to meet him is someone you feel like you have known forever) made sure the food was perfection, that the event went on without a hitch, and any little hiccups that occurred along the way were immediately addressed. The event itself was set to perfection. Teresa's team made sure that the color scheme we had picked matched the flowers and backdrops to perfection. We also had a last minute change that most venues would not honor. My daughter wanted her court to sit with her, and Teresa and her husband immediately jumped to make my daughters wish come true, even though they had to track down the linens at the last minute and add additional tables. I wish there were more stars I could give. I highly recommend Marez Event Center if you want a classy event with a team that treats you like family.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE ‼️

My wife and I just had our wedding at MAREZ EVENT CENTER. We were truly blessed to choose Marez for our special day. Teresa and her husband truly went above and beyond to make sure that everything was perfect. Their attention to detail and their willingness to help really makes this the best location to have any event we highly recommend the Marez Event Center.

I had a wedding this past weekend, it was very unorganized and if it wasn't for my wife's friend it would have been worse. The manager is my aunt by blood and gave me a discount supposedly her over sold us the venue with promises and didn't fallow thought. I had told her my concerned wasn't about the discount it was about everything being done as she sold it to us. Her exact words were you will only do center peaces and music, well that was a lie she obviously denied what she promised. Before our wedding took place we got a flyer sent to us by a friend they were advertising the venue at a set price which was a way lower price, besides the point of that I would not recommend this VENUE for any event. My wedding has past I cant do anything about that, but HELP others on not making this bad choice. felt taken advantage of.

I went to a wedding here the owners were very unprofessional. They had no sense of direction, the whole time I just saw them sitting at a table eating like they were guests at the wedding. I noticed guests cleaning up messes instead of employees. The dinner rolls were hard as rock and cold. The bride and groom were served last and their food was cold. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone unless you want to overpay for bad service!

Attended an event here this past weekend. The food that was served was amazing and the overall vibe of the venue was very pleasing. Would definitely recommend this venue and attend again!!
