This wasn't my first time here. I've been going to East Hartford Margaritas for at least two decades now. Food and drinks used to be good. After my this visit, it'll always be a hard no for me.

Atmosphere is nothing short of a nightclub. Music was so loud you couldn't hear the person sitting next to you so there's no point of conversing. I love music but not to the point where I can't hear myself think.

Before sitting down, the man cleaning our table did say, "we have one server so it may be a while." Cool. We had nowhere to be and I had been craving steak fajitas. Not a big deal. Server finally came and we put all our orders in because of the situation. Drinks took about 20-30 minutes to arrive. Chips and salsa are complimentary but didn't come until after our drinks. Do we were twiddling our thumbs for a while, listening to very loud music. Again, we were prepared.

My son ordered a chicken quesadilla and when his food came out there was no chicken so he only ate fries and chips. My husband's chicken fajita was fine except for the burnt rice. The burnt taste permeated the entire rice so he couldn't that. Server asked how I'd like my steak to be cooked and I ordered it medium rare. It came out well the first time. The second time it was rare so I asked for the manager. It was the same man cleaning the table and warning us that there's only one server tonight. I didn't realize he was the manager as well. He came over and said, "I heard you guys don't want to pay for the food?!" No. That's not what we said at all! I told him the steak situation and when I asked for it to be cooked a bit more he rolled his eyes. I made him aware of my husband's burnt rice but apparently I was "the only one complaining about the rice all night." I did nicely tell him we were aware of the one server but it shouldn't have anything to do with our food, which came out in a fair amount of time. The only thing I was upset about was the wrong orders and messed up steak temp. My family ate without me. Well, the manager's floodgates opened and we felt like we were his punching bags of the night. "I can't help that five people called out today. I can't help if no one wants to work. I told you before you sat down!"

The churros were hard. Queso dip was too runny. Mediocre food at best at this point of what was edible.

I still left a very nice tip even after he took my fajita meal off as he should. Also, if you're that short staffed, close the business or only keep the bar open with simple food. We only went to East Hartford because the Wilmington location is closed on Mondays.

I'm super disappointed in this business as I've been a patron for over 20 years. Always went to happy hours with coworkers, friends and family. I do hope they get it together so their business thrives.

This place is absolutely amazing. They have a current challenge going on.So be sure to check the photo I took a photo of the challenge. If you're looking for the Mexican culture, you definitely want to stop here. Real authentic everything down to the statues to the pictures on the wall to the maximum space capacity for people that I have ever seen in a restaurant. Honestly, I'm not trying to pick this place up but I was blown out when I saw the simple fact that they had seating for almost, I want to say. What I could see, not to mention the wraparound that goes around the building, at least 400 people tables, a bar multiple private areas where you can sit and be secluded. If you don't like to be around people, it's just an all around, great amazing layout. I have eaten here and the food was absolutely delightful. Moderate pricing and they are having a challenge coming up soon i believe the hostess told me it would be, super large taco, and if you can eat this thing you will get, I believe a year. Free of food .Of some type, so definitely call them and find out about this challenge as for it will not last long. Someone is bound to win. Good luck to the winner. And i'm glad I could help them and help you guys find this place and yes, they have a massive bar and if the bar is full acts, if you can sit in the back part by the kitchen private area, you're welcome and enjoy the food 💯

I had the absolute best birthday celebration here last night in their private dining area!!
Q was our waitress and she was absolutely amazing!! 💜
we had a large group of around 20, pretty rambunctious friends, and she was very patient and caring towards our experience of the best time possible.
The food and atmosphere was amazing !!
will definitely be coming here again for more amazing food and service.

Letty was a great waitress. She was very attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed. Always a smile on her face. Matt, the manager, always makes his rounds and says hello to guests.

First time here- wow SO disappointed! Food was disgusting. My husband ordered the chicken fajitas and the presentation was a joke. I ordered a side of fries, rice, beans, and avocado slices. The beans looked like they literally came out of a can and were heated up in the microwave. The rice was this bright orange color- what is that? All of the food had NO flavor or had a bland taste. I also ordered horchata and it was so watered down, I had them make a new one and only difference was they sprinkled cinnamon on top of the whip cream this time. Never going there again. As a proud Guatemalan, I’m offended by the attempt to make Mexican dishes. Service was great but please get a new chef!

Went here on Margarita night it was packed wall to wall. The staff handle the pack crowd very professional 👏🏾. Our waitress was phenomenal. She had numerous tables to wait on, but she always checked back in with us, and even though it was packed, it didn't take long for the food or drinks. Our food was okay. I had a huge piece of feather on my chicken wings. I called the waitress over and showed her, and she took it back to the kitchen and told them that the customer said she did not eat feathers on her chicken (lol) They cooked its again and this time without the feather🤣 the margarita drinks perfect 👌🏾 let's just say I went home and was feeling real good🤣🤣☺️ overall I would definitely go back.

Awesome food and beyond amazing service. Thought I'd be taking my meal home but ate it all and our server Q dealt with our admittedly rowdy group like an absolute pro. Cannot recommend this place or Q enough!
