Free shuttle to Grove. This place is AWESOME. Pictures do not do this place justice. Until you stand beside one of these trees, you just can't respect their beauty. Trails are nice, something for young, old, fit or not so much. You can enjoy your day for sure. And even people at the south entrance were so nice, and kept the line moving quickly. We went early, around 8 a.m., which is when the free shuttle begins. Hope you go. Again, just beautiful scenery and beautiful drive.

This is the parking lot to get to Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias. We opted to take a trail from the end of the parking lot instead of taking the shuttle to the Grove. It was very relaxing and peaceful, only 1.9 miles and saw some mule deer! Arrive early to beat the crowds. This is also all free.

Beautiful welcome center and plaza. It’s designed to spend time outside learning about the grove. There is a small interior space for information and gifts, but there is only room for about ten people. Essentially, this is a space for large groups to meet up and utilize the free shuttle to the trailheads.

The shuttle starts at 8am so we decided to arrive at the Grove around then. So glad we did because cars were already coming in and the place was getting busy when we left an hour later.
At 8am, there was no line for the shuttle yet and when we arrived at the Grove after a short bus ride, we had the place almost to ourselves.

We did the short loop walk around. It was a beautiful walk. Wish we had more time to spend there but some in our group were older and wanted to stick to the shorter path.

Beautiful hike through the sequoias. Get there REALLY early, like 7:30. The sooner you ride the shuttle, the less crowded, rude, and pushy people you have to deal with. We rode the second shuttle of the day and spent two hours leisurely wandering throughout the Grove. By the time we left, it was crazy and insane. Don't freak out on the parking. Follow the directions, then circle through, from the end, to see if there is a parking space up top. Wildlife on the road where the handicap can drive to top.

Great facility to access big trees loop. Free shuttle runs every 15-20min. Parking, gift shop and restrooms located here.
I arrived around 9/930am on a Thursday, plenty of parking and got on the second shuttle when waiting in line. I got back around 1230/1 and there were still a few parking spots available, but a shorter line waiting for the shuttle.

Great place to visit and see the sequoias within Yosemite right next to the park's south entrance. Park and then bus shuttle to trail head. Short hike to see the sequoia grove. No food at visitor center so bring snacks.

We came at the end of March and it was still a bit chilly but beautiful. It had rained the weekend before we arrived but the weather cleared up and it was spectacular. We did the hike to the grizzly giant and took the hiking route, not the road. Due to the season, the road was closed, so a lot of people chose to walk the road up to the sequoia trees. We wanted to hike, and it was well worth it. We hiked with 2 children ages 5 and 9. It took us longer due to stopping many times, and overall, it took us 4 hours. We stopped to rest at the Mariposa Grove parking lot and ate. Then we took the road back because we were all too tired. It did get colder during the hike as we climbed, but we had several layers on, and we did get hot from all the walking.
