Boyfriend and I spent the night, a last minute decision. The snacks and drinks were complimentary and very unexpected. The bed was soooo comfortable we didn't want to get up. Virginia gave us the history and a lil tour, we loved her dog. The breakfast was amazing and we will be back! Thanks so for everything!!

I had the honor of staying for a week at this beautiful bed & breakfast, earlier this month.
I stayed in the McNeill suite, which far exceeded my expectations. The room was quite large, the king size bed was nice and very comfortable. Virginia is a very gracious and welcoming host, providing a delicious breakfast each morning along with good conversations.

My boyfriend and I had a FANTASTIC stay here. Virginia is SO kind and gave us a tour of this beautiful place when we arrived. She served us dessert in the evening and the next day woke up and made us a phenomenal breakfast! The bed was SO comfortable and the sheets smelled like fresh line-dried laundry. The whirlpool was so relaxing and I LOVED how the tv in the room was able to connect to Disney Plus so we got to watch our favorite movies before drifting off to sleep. 100/10 recommend and I’m already looking forward to going back someday. 🙂

The McNeill Stone Mansion is terrific! Gorgeous private rooms and public rooms as well. Virginia has provided lots of snacks and beverages and areas to hang out whenever you want. The bed in the Royal Red Room was very comfortable, multiple types of pillows are provided so you can pick the one that best suits your needs, and the bathroom is very well appointed. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Virginia is a lovely host - present if you want her to be, and absent if you don't, which is something some other B&B's haven't figured out. :)||||The Stone Mansion is in a convenient location and much more comfortable than the hotels in the area. We can't wait to have a reason to stay there again!

My second stay at this wonderful bed and breakfast. Not only is it beautiful inside and out, but the hosts are the best! Gary and Virginia have thought of everything and go out of their way to make your stay memorable. I have stayed in the Royal Red Room and the Far East Room. Both are exceptional and have the most comfortable beds ever, as I am sure the other rooms do also. The rooms are very quiet and have great views from the windows. I enjoyed the back covered porch where you could sit for coffee or a perhaps a glass of wine. I plan on booking a room here every time I am in the area overnight and look forward to my next stay!

Virginia is the sweetest host who takes premium hospitality to a whole new level. She shares the rich history of the home and is a great conversationalist, so you get to hear stories of other people who stay. B&B at its best!!

It was our third visit to McNeill. A WONDERFUL place to go for solace. A big huge bedroom with a king sized bed. A tub to soak in was wonderful too and one bedroom had a Jacuzzi in it. Oh if I just had one at home. Breakfasts are good with not too much food since I have a light appetite. Virginia and Gary are delightful hosts, and Virginia likes to chit chat, and we really enjoy her company while eating. I LOVE the place. The mansion is decorated to the hilt and beautifully done. Christmas time is especially nice with trimmed trees and other decor everywhere throughout the whole place. We often go there before Christmas and shop at the Mahaska Drug where Christmas shopping is outstanding. The decorations are out of sight. Absolutely incredible place to shop. Be sure and go there when you're at McNeill.

The house has been restored beautifully, with most of its original architecture intact. It's obvious that the house and its rich decor is a labor of love. The history of the house is fascinating. The owners are welcoming, friendly, informative, and generous. It was a pleasure talking with them. The breakfast was excellent, served formally on a beautiful china set at a dining table that can seat 10 people easily. I highly recommend this as a "must-stay" place when you are in the area.
