Some of the people are nice, you will get some rude one from time to time.. by far one of the worst places i experienced giving you benefit, I would really rather continue on paying cash for food because the hoop I’m trying get through to receive some snap benefits I rather not deal with it or them.then you’ll be denied over petty reason no wonder why some some kids go hungry at. Dealing with the system is definitely overwhelming. Just my experience

By far out of all of the other counties I’ve lived in the past, this job and family are the quickest, easiest and friendliest places by far! I missed a deadline one time and was way past the deadline to return paperwork date and they eventually had to close my case by the time I was able to get to their office so when I was finally able to go to their office and see what I need to do to get my assistance back, they had me fill out the application to receive my benefits application and I had all of the other paperwork and documents on me just in case I did have to re-apply and they took my application and all of the paperwork that they needed to reopen my case and then it was either the next day later or the day after that at the latest and the caseworker was calling me on my phone to let me know that she reviewed my application and my case was reopened and that she already added my monthly benefits to my foodstamp card and that my insurance was renewed and verified and everything as well and renewed for another year as well and it wasn’t just the fact that it was all done so fast that just completely surprised me but also the fact that on top of the fast, great, efficient way she did my case that caught me by surprise, also the fact that she called me over the phone herself to let me know when most of the time you just wait for the paperwork from them telling me about my case details, had she not called I would’ve had benefits on my card that i wouldn’t be aware of that sat all that time because I wasn’t aware of the details of my case if she didn’t call and give me a heads up and that was awesome and a huge favor they didn’t have to do but did anyway and this is just one of the many positive experiences over the last 4 or so years!
Unfortunately i have to transfer my case by the end of next month because of an upcoming move to the warren county area and I have lived in this county before about 10 years ago and I just know that the job and family in that county is going to be a nightmare compared to the fast, efficient process that I have been used to living in Miami county! On the other hand, I should be thankful and count my lucky stars that we don’t have to move to the Montgomery County area because, while I may not be thrilled about having to transfer back to warren county again I think to myself that it could be alot worse if I had to transfer to Montgomery County because warren County doesn’t even come close as bad on me as Montgomery County would be on me so I’m thankful for that! Their is a silver lining for me,however I am truly sad about having to transfer out of Miami county because not only did I love and will miss living in the small, safe cute little city (tipp city), I will definitely miss how quick and easy it was all the years I lived here and probably end up regretting it and moving back to tipp city

Always in and out. Very nice receptionists . Always handle my problems and quick with answers to my questions. Most job and families want you to call a number for any questions but they’ve always went the extra mile and got me my answers! Best job and family services hands down !!!

People are nice enough, but trying to get help if you have an actual job and are trying to survive is like pulling teeth. Policy problem, not a people problem. Places like this really do cater to the jobless and lazy as you have to do SO MUCH WORK (during working hours) to get any help. Looking for utility assistance? "Call every other charitable agency first, then call us to make up the difference of what they don't pay". 8 hours of work dragging your child around town with 6 copies of everything...Need help with rent? "you need an eviction notice first". Who wants to miss their job to get a bill paid or get evicted in order to pay rent. There is room for improvement. This is why people stay in these situations.

Just want to know if anyone even HAS a caseworker. Even if you actually even MEET them, and they actually tell you their name, there is no WAY to get in touch with them. When you call, all Ive ever gotten is "Caseworkers do not accept calls." WTH? How are we supposed to get answers to our questions?

EDIT: After reporting the operator... I was contacted by her customer service manager. If you are mistreated by the operator staff I encourage you to follow suite and report. She was very nice and professional and was able to find out exactly who was treating me badly. Overall. Once I got past the gatekeeper aka operator. I had a decent experience here. For that I'll change my 1 star rating to a 3 star rating. There were still some mishaps, but I got my family insured and everyone else I talked to was professional and helpful.

If you're having problems with this place it's 100% the phone operator. They will purposely sabotage you and transfer you to the wrong place. Just had this confirmed. The case workers are great. The people on the phones are very unkind, unprofessional, and seemingly wicked.

Very bizarre experience here. My case worker seems very nice and attentive, but the operators are straight out of the Twilight Zone. I have 20 years in customer service and just moved here from WA state (where you can tell people are smiling and attentive when they answer the phone for these services. It's obvious they clearly want to help people.) There was a discrepancy in entering my paperwork as I'm attempting to get health care for my children. I heard nothing back in weeks. I get it, it was the holidays. So, when I called and explained to the Operator that I had forgotten my caseworkers name and needed help looking it up, she didn't say one word and after 4 minutes of silence I was transferred to a machine which told me it would ask 4 questions then just beeped. When I called back I was met with another bizarre silence and a very short winded angry sounding woman. Look lady, you're in the business of helping people. You are in the wrong business if that's how you treat people. We are human beings not just annoyances for you to cycle through. Oddly she finally said, "Look I have a lot of people to help." I was asking for 3 minutes of her time and she pretty much refused to help me...is she actually helping anybody or just sitting there silently, rolling her eyes, and rage transferring people? Maybe, explain the process a bit, or look up my case and transfer me? That's "helping" Once she finally gave me the info I needed (After I called back 4 times. I wasn't giving up. My kids are in dire need of insurance.) she transferred me to a person with a similar name as my caseworker. I left a message and it was never returned. When my caseworker got back I was informed she never received my message because the person I was transferred to wasn't her. This was a disturbing and deliberate sabotage.

They should replace this woman with a real customer service representative. A person who wants to help others. A kind gentle hearted person.

Very strange experience. If you don't want to help people then don't get a customer service job. 🙂 It's simple.

I have lived in Montgomery, Green County and have been here in Miami county for a few years now and hands down the best and the most friendly Job and Family I’ve had to deal with. No one likes to have to ask for help so having a positive experience means the world to those people who are already hesitant. Politics aside we are all human and need to be treated with respect and dignity and that is how the staff has approached customer service. A little tip: go in person and early; every business has their busy hours, it’s best to avoid these times.

Even the one star was being too generous. Worst possible customer service for those who are trying their hardest, going through a difficult time. Its more than obvious that this county agency couldn't possibly care less. No matter your situation, you will be judged and looked down on the minute you walk through the door.
