Had an amazing trip with my best friend and would definitely recommend to others. We did the family fun run and it was both exciting and a great way to explore nature. Our guide was informative and also hilarious / entertaining along with the safety kayaker and photographer. The safety kayaker was very friendly and the photographer took some amazing shots of us. There was also a portion of our trip where we were allowed to jump in and float! They gave great recommendations for the rest of our trip. Will definitely come back for a level 4! Thank you to everyone on our trip. - Monterey, CA

We had a blast! Yes I fell outta the boat within 30 seconds. All the guys did. And popped right back into the raft. All good. Had a ton of fun, the instructor, Ivan, complete maniac who’s tons of fun and makes you laugh and have a blast all the way down. Definitely recommend to anyone!! We did class 4 and felt totally safe and secure. Totally worth it!!

When we returned from Sequoia State Park along the road, we found a sign with information about rafting. We stopped asking. We were authorized after visiting the park, but we decided to do it, and the staff did not refuse us, despite the fact that we were in our usual clothes and shoes. We certified the paperwork, paid, applied sunscreen, put on our uniforms and continued our search. For us it was a spontaneous decision, and we did not regret it. We had an instructor named Michelle, she is a cool, funny and positive person. Thanks to her for her work. In July the river was already calm, and the rapids on the river were easy to pass. We had rafting experience in other countries before, but this experience was the easiest. We will definitely come back next season. This rafting trip takes place just a few small distances from Sequoia Kings Canyon Park. Just 3.5 hours from Los Angeles. We returned to Los Angeles wet but happy. Thank you for this experience.

What an amazing time!! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!!! Everyone was so kind and friendly from the beginning to the end. The team really loves what they do and their joy was infectious. Mountain Descents outfitted us with all the gear we needed; wetsuits, vests and helmets. Ivan was our experienced guide. He walked us through all the safety procedures and strokes before we left dry land. We practiced our synchronization in a shallow area before we hit the rapids. We were also accompanied by Pablo, Sydney, and Vicente (in a kayak). Ivan let us know what to expect before each rapid and the safety procedures. He would call out directions of how to paddle in each area. We felt safe and in good hands throughout the whole trip. They shared local history as we travels down the river. There’s even a calm area down the river you can cannonball out of the raft and float along side the boat down the river. Very fun! We enjoyed the Intermediate Class IV rapids as first-timers and we can’t wait to do it again!! Mountain Descents was very professional and organized. They even have a professional photographer, Jose, that captured wonderful photos from our adventure. Thank you again to everyone for such an amazing experience! We highly recommend Mountain Descents for all ages!!! Soooo much fun!!!!

We had one crazy experience here at Mountain adventures & the instructors were pretty lucid & navigating even for beginners in our trip! I really encourage trying out intermediate rafting which lasted for almost 2.5hrs including the drive to the top. Overall it is a must adventure for friends & family when visiting Sequoia National Park.

This was such a fun experience! It was so much fun we want to do it again! Our guides were very knowledgeable, straightforward, and made this experience even better! Some of the photos were taken by their photographer! So neat that they can capture these moments for us!

I write this review late, but that shouldn't take away from the incredible experience we were shown by the great crew at Mountain Descents.

After 5 years of operating our own non-profit adventures out of Arizona, we realized our dream of taking our youth to Yosemite.
Of our week in California doing everything from the beach and boardwalk to Sequoia and Yosemite. Our river run with Mountain Descents was definitely a top contender for our favorite activity.
From the time we booked and the uncertainty of the record flow of the river through the actual experience of rafting, Amakiah and staff were professional, enthusiastic, energetic, and entertaining.
They went out of their way to keep my group together and show us a good time. They even gave us an experience of slip sliding into the river, which meant they "shoveled" water onto the upside down raft; no easy task.
Mountain descents went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. Because of them, these kids are going to have amazing memories that last their lifetimes.

We can not recommend them enough; don't hesitate if you're considering booking with them.

Ivan drove us to the drop point with confidence and calm, setting the tone for the adventure ahead. And then came Crystal, our river guide and absolute legend. She delivered a safety briefing that was equal parts informative and inspiring—if there’s a Jedi Council for rafting, she’s definitely on it.

The Kaweah was roaring, the rapids were punchy 4+ thrillers, and our raft team was all-in. We shared our boat with another couple, Andrew and Christine, who turned out to be newly engaged (and just as locked-in as the rest of us). That shared energy made every rapid a celebration.

As for me—I had a brief, unscheduled “refreshing dip” on one of the final rapids, but Kenny and Nick, our vigilant safety kayakers, were right there to guide me back to the raft with calm professionalism (and probably some hidden Jedi powers of their own).

To top it all off, José, the on-river photographer, somehow managed to capture every splash, smile, and wild whoop as we charged down the river—memories frozen in time.

Unexpected, exhilarating, unforgettable.
Thank you, Mountain Descents, for an experience that soaked us to the bone and lifted our spirits sky high. We’ll be back.
