Amazing place with a lot of history in a beautiful location. The monks are very kind and accommodating. A wonderful experience for people of all denominations. The gift shop is full of incredible hand-crafted items made by the monks and their signature wooden coffins are masterful.

What a fascinating place New Melleray Abbey is, truly a moving visit. I will be coming back and hope to spend more time.

If you’re in the gift shop and want to buy something and thinking someone will help you to check out you’ll be staying overnight. Ha ha. I looked around and saw a sign that it’s self checkout. They have easy directions for you to follow.

Ordered casket from them for my mother's funeral back in January, 2019. Visited the monastery this past week. Attended the mass and services for all who lost loved one this past 12 months. Very beautiful place, well kept. Highly recommend a visit, especially if your a christian.

This is an inspirational and contemplative place. The grounds and abbey are immaculate in their care. The services are touching. The bookstore is a little light in serious scholarship but a lovely selection. The library, reading room is much better.

I have had multiple enjoyable stays at the guest house at the Abbey while on retreat. The facilities are lovely, the spiritual environment is very peaceful and reflective, and the guest master, Fr. Jonah, is very hospitable and friendly. I look forward to going every year.
