We had a great experience with Platypus Wine Tour. Our guide Rob was very friendly and knowledgeable about both wine in general and the wineries we visited. Rob made an effort to make sure the group had a good time. Our stop at Loxton’s Winery was our favorite. The host was very professional, knowledgeable and passionate about her job. Ty Caron’s winery where we had lunch was also very interesting. We didn’t enjoy the last stop at Mayo Family Winery as much as the other two. Overall, it was a great day in Sonoma Wine Country.

Loved our experience! The our guide was amazing! His name was Rob and he made us all feel very welcomed. He carried our wine to the bus and we didn't even have to think about hauling it all out. That was very nice. The small group tour was great setting and we got to see some really neat wineries..off the main path. The lunch was delicious and just what I needed. A nice sandwich with a quinoa salad, fruit and we ate over a glass of wine at the 2nd winery. The enclosed bus was nice as it was Slighly cloudy the morning we went. Rob was very accommodating to all the guests. I had bad allergies and he continued to check in on me. He even offered to stop at a store so I could get allergy medicine. He was so nice and we all appreciated his positive, fun spirit. Thank you tour guide Rob!

Would highly recommend Platypus Wine Tours if you’re in the Napa or Sonoma Valley area. A great way to visit some of the smaller, family run, lesser known hidden gems. Easy to setup and great communication.

On the day of the tour, our guide, Luis, promptly picked us up at the agreed upon meeting location and we were off! We had a little extra time after our first stop, so Luis even added an unscheduled tasting room. We really enjoyed the tours and tastings we went to and never felt rushed or pressured. Lunch is provided and it was very good. We were also supplied with ample water, which is helpful after many wine tastings.

If you’re in the area, definitely check set up a tour!

Great tip for a group to visit Sonoma wineries with a driver. LOVED having Tina help me decide the wineries to visit based on our group's vibes and goals for the day. LOVED that they picked us up at our rental house. Friendly and knowledgeable driver takes care of your picnic and waters and little winery tips from a local. I was skeptical of the picnic lunch, but it was a top notch gourmet meal!

First of all, WOW! Our tour guide Jason, I just loved him. My friend and I were reuniting without our husbands and children. I think he felt our energy, and he showed us a great time! He took us to three different places, they were all so awesome. the first one though was loxton winery, I will be thinking of that place for years to come! Visiting the small wineries was what I was looking for. This tour was perfect.
Thank you Jason for such an amazing day and for letting us let our hair down.
You deserve 10 stars, next time we visit Sonoma I hope you are our guide. we will definitely be taking platypus tours again!

Okay, I read the reviews on Google and they were so far ahead of the competition that we had to try it. We were not disappointed. Army was our guide and was full of information and super friendly. He’s also a retired photographer so he took pictures of all of us on the tour. It was clear he knows his business and has personal relationships with each of the wineries that we visited. He answered loads of questions and provided a tour of four excellent locations. He joked with everyone on the tour and was very friendly.

The bus was comfortable with a cheese plate and plenty of water available throughout the trip. They picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel. For some others on the trip they offered to take them to their dinner location at the end of the trip. They also had packing boxes for bringing wine home.

Lunch was provided in a wine cave. The lunch consists of salad and sandwiches but was just perfect. Great setting with more tastings. We finished off with a wine and chocolate pairing which was also nice.

The tour provided discounts at most locations (as do most of the hotels) and had seating and arrangements prepared each time we pulled up.

As for the price, we spent more the day prior calling Uber drivers to takes us around and didn’t have any of the expertise or witty banter that we received on the tour. Not to mention the personal relationships that the tour company had with the destinations.
