We had to take an emergency trip to Michigan from northwest Iowa and stopped here mid-way through for the night. We called on our way and talked to Mike who was very helpful. On arrival, Mike checked us in. Friendly, speedy service. |The room was clean with plenty of towels, and the beds were amazingly comfortable. Great night's sleep. The area where the hotel is located is also nice and quiet.|Breakfast was good with lots of choices. The only thing missing were bananas, but not a "game changer."|Check-out was quick and efficient, again with Mike.|On our return trip to Iowa, we decided to break up the trip and stayed here again. Everything was just as before. Very comfortable.|We will now be staying here whenever we make trips back to Michigan. It is nicely mid-way through the trip and just right for us.

This hotel is probably in a three-way tie for the worst I ever stayed in and I've stayed in a lot of hotels. The whole place had a really bad odor of ethnic food or something foul. The door didn't work properly. The clerk informed me that "you have to move the handle up, not down with a door like that". Translation: The door doesn't work properly. The room had been renovated recently with the exception of some nails popping through the drywall and a built-in microwave that didn't work (there was a second microwave on the counter). For a non smoking hotel our room smelled badly of cigarettes. When I complained to the front desk the clerk made an excuse about some workers that stayed there before and asked if I wanted some "spray". The owners apparently lived in a room or an apartment directly above our room. We could hear loud footsteps and running around above us until after 11:00 PM and again starting at 05:00 AM. The TV didn't work either. The clerk had to come into our room (awkward) and fool with it to make it work. All-in-all, not very restful.

The room looked nice on the surface but on closer inspection it was filthy! It was late at night and I immediately checked out and asked for a refund. They tried to move me to another room to accommodate me, however my experience with one filthy room is more filthy rooms! I was promptly refunded and continued down the road to other accommodations.

Awful Nasty people, they treat American Vets like garbage. They refuse to follow US Laws, think they are above them and since they ARE VISITORS IN OUR COUNTRY I THINK OUR VICE PRESIDENT WILL LOVE HOW THEY TREATED HIS FAMILY OR DIDNT SINCE REFUSED SERVICE

The hotel staff were not very friendly. The hotel welcomes dogs, but the owners who live there were deathly afraid of them even though we had them on leashes and the dogs are very highly trained to obey our commands. The doors to the hotel rooms are light and one of my dogs was able to push down the handle and nudge her nose to open it to try to find us when we left the room. She has terrible anxiety as she is a rescue! I got a call from a Washington DC number which I ignored because I don’t answer unknown numbers. 2 hours later, I saw a voicemail from that number. My dog escaped and was frantically looking for us. They put her in the room, but she escaped twice. They said “Your dog is out, you must call us immediately!” We went there and then we had to lock her in the in the bathroom for when we left the room, and her nose is torn up from trying to escape. We were here visiting our daughter and her husband and 2 grandchildren. We had to do this for 4 days! Poor Lucy 😢
Also, There was a cute setup under a tree for smoking with chairs and a table but it was obviously their hang out at night. This hotel is their home and we were not welcome in their outdoor space. Funny thing is, their sign says “welcome to your home”. They need to take the y off of “your”! 🤣 I will say they have a cute kiddo whom is very nice and polite. And the food the momma cooked in room 222 smelled amazing!!! I wanted to taste some Indian food! 😉
