Had a good time on our Mt Adam's Trip with my son. Awe-inspiring views!
I would like to give kudos to Alex Beck one of our guides, he definitely embodies, "Leave no one behind" I did not perform as well as; I'd hoped, thought my trip would be over before it barely began. Alex sat me down, allowed me to rest, gave me some encouragement and took some of my weight and carried it himself. (although feeling a bit defeated, it was an honor to get to meet someone with such kindness and character.) He allowed me to move at my own pace, and before I knew had made it to lunch counter. I decided not to try to summit this time, but will be attempting it again next year with whole lot more knowledge. Congrats, to my son and all that made it to the summit in the group!! And thanks again to all that gave me words of encouragement!

Our 4 Day PCT Through Hike was impacted by the forest fires. REA scrambled and put together 2 days of hiking, and an overnight backpack trip for us. Connor and Josh both took us on amazing local hikes with varied elevation and terrain. We had breathtaking views of Mt Hood, the wild flowers were in bloom, and the support and learning opportunities provided were outstanding. We learned how to pack, how to fuel, how to hike, and tons of other skills. The guides offered as much help as we needed while allowing us to learn and do. You should totally book with this group!!

REA supplied our group with exceptional guides Kaylee & Dani! They were very familiar with the area we hiked, and knowledgeable in everything backpacking! They had to modify plans due to fire areas and differing hiking abilities of members in our group (including myself), and did so with easy-going professionalism.
I would recommend REA for anyone's adventure, and if you're lucky enough to get Kaylee or Dani as a guide, they are awesome!

I have only great things to say about Rare Earth Adventures. The guides for our trip were so incredibly knowledgeable, not just about backpacking and general outdoors education, but about the forest, the trees, the plants, the animals, everything about the area we were hiking in. And they were so encouraging and supportive through the entire trip with whatever came our way — blister care, finding places to camp, sharing the load. Kaylee and Nastia made the trip perfect in every way. Rare Earth as an organization was great in preparing us for the experience, communicating effectively, and setting us up for success on our first backpacking experience. I couldn't have asked for more and will definitely come back for another adventure!

This was a wonderful way to feel more confident backpacking. It was a lot of work and very rewarding. I had Alexis as my guide. She was helpful and full of information. Always watchful if you needed help, there to answer any questions (and we had a lot), connected with each of us. I was a single traveler. I felt very comfortable and included in all aspects of the trip. The portion of the PCT we did was spectacular.
I had booked this in 2019 for a 2020 PCT trip. Unable to go in 2020, Covid, and then had a foot injury in 2021. REA worked with me during all the delays. I am glad I was finally able to make this trip. I highly recommend for anyone wanting to experience the PCT but want to have the confidence of an experienced person with them. Thank you Alexis and REA for a grand adventure.

Just went on an awesome 4-day backpacking trip on the PCT with REA. REA was so helpful in the planning and preparing for the trip - everything from training hike suggestions to a packing list (and they had some gear to borrow if you didn't have everything!). The guides on the trail were amazing, fun, and knowledgeable - especially Misha! I highly recommend REA for any short or long hiking, backpacking, or climbing trip you might be considering in their area!

I booked this trip on the fly so my experience was very unexpected and amazing. I thought it might be a little easier in terms of the route however although very difficult at times also achievable if you have a positive mindset. I am so glad I was pushed outside. my comfort zone because the views are sooooo worth it. Gorgeous is not even close to how I can describe the journey! The guides were absolutely AMAZING!!!! I learned so much and have never felt so safe and taken care of on a group trip. The women in the group were such beautiful travel companions with such great vibes!!! I hope to do another!
