To start off, host was very nice and the house was cute. It could use a furniture update -couches were tore up. We loved how secluded and peaceful it was. BUT, We had four little kids with us, as soon as we unpacked the car, the kids got out to play inside and their feet and knees were BLACK after just a few minutes -not sure the floors have ever been mopped. We got in late so i had to feed everyone but had to rewash all the dishes i used before using them. Husband looked around and found rat feces In the room at houses the hot water heater.
The host graciously gave us a full refund after we communicated we couldnt stay there due to the cleanliness of the place. We stayed the night because it was too late to pack everyone up and find a new place then that next morning as i was changing my baby i found a giant bed bug on the blanket. Host seemed shocked but where theres one theres more And I know we don’t have bedbugs in our home. I am completely ate up from staying ONE night in this house.

Pics include the “rat poop room” as my 5yo calls it, the kids feet, the random dirt/poop looking mark ok the floor and the juicy bed bug that used me as dinner all night.

The place has great potential, and the host was very kind. To say the place needs a good cleaning is an understatement. It was so dirty it made it uncomfortable for my family. Even after sweeping we felt the need to wear shoes. We never did let our son play in the floor, and we had dog hair all over us after watching a movie on the couch. This was part of our 4 year anniversary trip, and it was quite a let down from what we expected. We stayed at the ranch house.

Out of the way and mostly quiet.

The cabin/garage structure wasn't anything special, but did the job of keeping the bugs off us. The interior reminded me a lot of practical temporary employee housing units, like oil field barracks or something. The corrugated metal walls and handmade cabinetry was a vibe.

Aside from that building, the area immediately around us was your typical rural post-agriculture disrepair asthetic; crumbling out-buildings with no doors full of rusting junk appliances, scavenged trash, and high-mileage sedans.

If that kind of stuff intrigues you, this might be your Graceland. If it doesn't, the nights out there get more than dark enough to keep your view from wandering too far from your campfire.

All-in-all, it was an acceptable experience. There's not much to do, beyond puttering around and enjoying the atmosphere, which is the point of the place.

Bring a long extension cord to run from inside if you want to plug anything in, like speakers or something, out in the breezy garage/hangout area. We couldn't find an outlet.

Beautiful place, and property. Loved seeing all the animals while driving in to the cabin.
Peace a quiet with great walking trails. Fish and adventure is out there. Without being bothered. Dogs welcome.

An awesome place to unplug from society. Pet some horses, dogs and chickens. Walk to some ponds and lakes. Just unwind. We had a great time. The ranch house is big and cozy.

So very dirty everywhere. Kind people for sure, but wanted to sleep in the truck instead of the cabin.
