Ravenwood Castle was such a treat! My family and I had an incredible time visiting. The cottages are adorable and you truly feel like you are in a fairy village! The castle is amazing and the Renaissance music playing while eating breakfast was so neat. It was so nice to unplug from the world and enjoy some peace and family time. The food was delicious (the burgers, BLT, dessert, and breakfast casserole was excellent) and the staff was nice and accommodating! The only staff member I got the name of was Max. He took our orders and served us one night. He was so welcoming, kind, and had a great down-to-earth demeanor. Our cabin was so clean and beautiful. Can't wait to come back!! Thank you for allowing us to escape!

Wow!!! What an incredible place to stay!! We loved everything about Ravenwood! The staff is so friendly and helpful! The food is fantastic and the pub is a super fun quaint place to gather. The themed rooms are so cool! The grounds are beautiful with hiking paths, wildlife and a fire pit to gather around. We were there just before the trees started to bud but the daffodils were in full bloom. We would love to come back in the spring when the trees begin to emerge or the fall when the leaves begin to turn. We are certain it would be a spectacular bouquet of color. |We plan to return and would recommend to anyone wanting to get off the grid and |just relax and enjoy the peacefulness. Thank you Ravenwood!

This place is absolutely amazing! I loved it! They were so accommodating when I accidentally booked the wrong day and they were able to put us up in one of the "orphaned" rooms/cabins. All of the staff were nice but Amanda was the best! Thank you SOOO much for being my hero πŸ€— when devastation hit on our final days of our spring break vacation. I'll be extra cautious next time I book πŸ˜‰. This place submerses you in medieval times with the comforts of today. Be warned it's an "unplugged" experience with limited WIFI only available in the main building/Castle, but sooo worth it to get away from the technology and reconnect with your family. In the main building, they have tons of games to take freely to your room/cabin to use while there so no real need to pack them to bring along. Food and beverages served on premises were very tasty, too. They also have a booklet in the foyer with lots of pages worth of places you can go for food and such near by (when I say "near by" I mean like a half hour or so drive away for some of them). They have some DVD movies to take to watch in your room/cabin as well, but the selection is, in my opinion, not impressive. I plan to donate some on our next visit πŸ€«πŸ˜‰. Honestly, the only thing that could make this place better is adding more buildings to their village and having a town like set up complete witblh vendors in shops like at the midevial festivals. OH MY GOD that would be the absolute BEST! I'm so eager to return 🀩😍

The beginning: My husband & I went on a long weekend. We stayed in the candlewood cottage. The castle itself is beautiful. The reception area is in the back of the castle so we had to navigate there. We checked in, got a little tour and got our room keys.

The room: I was not a fan at first. It was very cute, a little small. Nice mini fridge, coffee maker, TV with DVD player. The bathroom was my biggest issue as it hard for me to navigate as I'm a bigger women. Hard water stains on the sink & tub. The first night, I try to take a bath in the jacuzzi tub but where the castle is located, it's well water. If you know anything about well water, there's a very unpleasant odor. Absolutely no fault to the castle or the workers. With that being said, I was still determined to make the weekend great.

Food: We made the decision to have dinner there Friday and Saturday night. Dinner was delicious! A little weird the first night just because we didn't know what to expect. Dinner is a must if you go in Friday and Saturday. Breakfast was included. Cereal, hard boiled eggs, rotation of casseroles, muffins, juice, coffee, tea. My husband is a diabetic so breakfast was hard. Saturday and Sunday, they have a alternate menu that you can order off of (for a charge). We did that Saturday and Sunday. Monday, we just made it work. Not a fan of the breakfast during the week but as it was included, no complaints here.

Staff: All the staff was super kind. There was one gentleman that worked in the evening that was absolutely fantastic. One thing I will say though is if you need something, you have to ask. The workers are in and out of the kitchen and in and out of the castle doing what they got to do. They're not going to stop and ask you if you need anything. There is a call button type thing downstairs in the pub and where you can call somebody to come down and take your order (food or drink). We stayed upstairs for the most part because stairs suck. If we wanted a drink, we would have to pop our head into the kitchen and ask somebody for it. They were super accommodating and helpful but it took me a minute to get used to.

Gaming: we're big nerds and we didn't know what kind of games they'd have so we brought our own. They did have a nice collection. We played games everyday in the big dining room. The other guests there were cool and it's easy to meet other people to play games with. If you're not into tabletop games or hikes, this might not be the vacation for you. They had four scavenger hunts, the difficulty increased for each one. They were a lot of fun! We got three out of the four of them. The last one is genius level. Great for people young and old. My niece is five and likes to play games so I might take her on a weekend getaway here if nothing else for the castle & the scavenger hunts.

Overall, I'd give a rating of 5/5. Once I understood that you need to ask for what you need, I was good. While I didn't love the bathroom in the cabin, it's that no fault of the castle or its employees. Next time we go (and we absolutely will be back), I think we'll choose a room inside of the castle on the main floor so that way we don't have to walk anywhere lol

Give it a go. Keep an open mind and have fun!

If you are not willing to throw adulting out the window and just enjoy being childish for a few nights this venue is not for you. We stayed 2 nights in the woodcutters cabin. It was so incredibly relaxing and peaceful. The staff was amazing and so friendly. Everything was clean and enchanting. There was no cell service (they do have WiFi at the castle) and we absolutely loved being able to unplug and unwind from the world. We played a plethora of board games, watched movies and just enjoyed being together in nature. The hiking in the area is great, all of the food was fantastic, I highly recommend the mimosas! We will definitely be back for one of their murder mysteries!

We came back in October for our 20th anniversary. We stayed in the King Arthur room and found it very charming! However, the lack of a mini fridge kept us having to go back and forth to the cooler in our car for ice, food and drinks. We also found the breakfasts completely inedible and ended up having to find restaurants in the area to eat.

Really cool place to stay. Everyone was very friendly. No TV, microwave, clock or fridge in room. Plenty of games and books to choose from there. Breakfast was good. Room was a little noisy being right by the steps.Playing chess outside was a lot of fun, as well as the scavenger hunts. It is a beautiful place. We enjoyed our stay.
