We were vacationing from CT and MA. The original.hotel we had canceled due to flooding. We thought this hotel had good reviews. The woman at the desk was friendly. She was the only nice thing about our stay. There was a horrible "barnyard" smell when you first enter the lobby. The room was old and dirty looking. It was cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for. I didn't dare sleep under the covers. The casino was not great either. Small and stinking of cigarettes. They need to do some updating.

Place is AMAZING! You get so many perks as a member. Love how they have smoking & Non smoking rooms & floors of the casino. It's a river boat.. just an ah amazing experience

Wow.. I bet in the 80s this place was popping. You can tell it was nice once. Inside very old feeling and the smell is awful. There is a non smoking floor on top where all the smoke rises too. We won't be back... Only positive is that the ride there along the river is scenic

The worst buffet experience I’ve ever had. When you spend over $60 and get corn dogs and bags of chips is insane! You will get better food and service from a Golden corral!

Sherry at the hotel should be the face of customer service here. She is so very helpful. Shawna is the best server and so attentive and nice. Dolan is very helpful, thoughtful and just an all around excellent host.

Two-Phased Review:

The hotel is quite rundown, and the rooms are nothing special—very outdated. Taking a shower was nearly impossible as water barely came out of the showerhead. The air conditioning was loud and disruptive. In the so-called “gym,” kids were running around unattended in bathing suits, playing with weights and using the treadmill. Additionally, people were entering the pool area wearing shoes, raising serious concerns about hygiene and sanitation.

On the positive side, the setup for kids during Christmas was wonderful. With Santa, music, reindeer, and festive activities, it’s a great spot to spend a few hours with your family—but I wouldn’t recommend staying overnight.

The casino had a historical charm and was interesting to look at. However, it was uncomfortably cold, and smoking was allowed, which made the experience less enjoyable.

This version maintains your tone but makes it easier to read and more polished.

I was very disappointed in the way that the hotel has been let rundown. The carpets were dirty, my toilet was dirty, the seat toilet needed changed, the room was dark. The paint on my bathroom door frame was coming off. It is WAY PAST NEEDING UPDATES. Even the main restroom in the lobby was in ill repair. I was told the rooms at Belterra were $30 more per night. Pay the extra $30 and get an updated, nice, clean room.

It's our third time visiting and they were very accommodating and kind. and the decorations for Christmas were awesome we felt like a kid again ! You could take a selfie in from the tree while Santa came to visit and talks to you. We had enough shops where you could pick up a nice gift and it just was overwhelmingly Christmas with a live music the lights the trees loved it! I missed the carriage ride we did get to see the real reindeer.
I love the older machines in the casino for the new ones arent as much fun. Breakfast was delicious at the buffet.
It was fun to watch where elf on the shelf would end up.
We drive two and a half hours to get there and I wish they were closer to us but each time we went it was great.
The pool and the hot tub and the sauna are very relaxing.
