My wife and I had an UNFORGETTABLE fall trip with Jason. He is a pro’s pro, and knows the Upper Sac like the back of his hand. I’m a part time guide myself and have known Jason for years but it’s the first time I’ve hardcore fly fished from a drift boat. There was a lot to learn and remember but Jason was a great and patient instructor! Between the 2 of us we probably had 40 hookups, and got 11 or 12 to the net. Def gonna go out again!

Jason Thatcher REALLY knows his river! He has worked it out so that he is able to drift completely different sections than the "usual" drift that begins in Redding. I have fished with him 9 times now and he's the best in the business at picking the river apart with the right locations, rod setup, technique and stealth. I have learned a lot and had some superb adventures with him. I won't fish with any other guide - he is THAT good! The robust, broad shouldered, hard-fighting trout that live in his river are SO much fun to hunt and then to gently and properly release. And man is this country beautiful!

Jason lead us to the best and biggest Fish of my husband's life. A beautiful Salmon. He did that with 31 boats on the river and our boat was 1 of only 3 to catch. We are looking forward to tight lines again.

Jason at River Pursuit is amazing! First off, he is extremely professional. Not only does he provide the boat, tackle and knowledge of the local rivers, he also is a mean cook!

Jason’s boat and equipment is top notch. I have been out with him multiple times and caught tons of fish from Salmon to trophy sized rainbow trout both times! Jason was able to teach me how to fly fish in the morning and I ended up with 6 trout in the boat that day.

I’ll never forget the days I’ve spent with River Pursuit! Memories that last a lifetime!

I've fished twice with River Pursuit Guide Service. Both times were with my wife who's a novice fly fisher at best. Each trip was an awesome day on the water. Catching fish is great but the whole experience was what we were after. Just drifting the river, checking out the sites, awesome shore lunch and local knowledge made the trip. We have our own boat too but nothing beats the experience of a local guide who's on the water regularly. Our guide Jason was very professional with a top notch boat and gear. I highly recommend booking a trip even if you're a DIY'er.

I have fished with River Pursuit Guide Service for over 8 years now. Mostly salmon on the Sacramento and Feather River. I have also fished striped bass. The fishing equipment is top notch and always ready to go. The boat is very comfortable and easily accommodates a group or family trip. As for the guide and owner, Jason is a top notch guide always knowing where the fish are most active and does his best every day to put the fisherman or woman on the fish. The only guide I will use in Northern California.

I have fished with Jason for years, both on his drift boat and jet boat. He has top notch gear and provided everything needed to fish for the day. Both the boats are in great shape with the drift boat being new. His knowledge of the Sacramento River and Trinity River are great, he takes you to where the fish are.
He has explained the features of these habits and pre fishes areas to better your fishing experience. I have recommended him to several of my family and friends who also had a great experience! I would recommend him to any interested person living or planing a trip to fish in Northern California.
