They're great people here! I had some issues with my boat this season, and they saved a slip for me until the first weekend in June. There's a small bait and tackle shack on the property, right next to the Lucky Lady partyboat. There's also a nice gazebo, screened in to keep out the black flies that swarm the area at low tide. They have a fish-cleaning station complete with sinks with running fresh water, and stainless steel cutting stations. The slips are conveniently located a little ways up and off the Hammonassett river, which is nice when the wind is really blowing in the harbor as it does. That keeps the boats a bit more protected. So far, I'm loving my experience at the Riverside Basin Marina, and look forward to making it a tradition to store my boat there. (That is if the Dems in Hartford don't tax me out of this state)

The worst customer service I've ever had in my life. These people are sweet as pie....until they aren't. Treated me like I was a bug on their windshield. I purchased a vessel that was stored in their yard that turned out it had a yard bill on it from the previous year / previous owner. I got them paid in full, with interest. They continued to be rude and nasty to me as if I was the guy that stiffed them on the bill. In the end they refused to make my boat available to a transport truck without trying to extort even more money from me because "legally we only have to launch it, not make it available to a trucking company." Even if it was more work for them (which it isn't) to put it on a truck you would think they would be grateful to me for getting them paid in full for a boat that was abandoned on their property. Instead, I was yelled at, threatened with a lawyer, and not allowed access to my boat until they got every penny. Their attitude towards me was, we have the boat blocked in, what are you going to do about it? real nice people...
With all of the marina's I've had boats at over the years, I have never been treated like that, ever.

Beware, These people will take your property and screw you the first chance that they can and there isn't much you can do about it once they have your boat...
This is my opinion on them, I hope you stay far away.

I've had my boat here for many years. This marina is excellent. Facilities are very clean, including the bathrooms and showers. Customer service is excellent, and they are able to do full maintenance and troubleshooting for both boats and motors.

The slips all have electricity and running water, though I don't think the water at the boat is potable (check with marina to be certain). The marina also has gazebos, picnic tables, grills, and fish cleaning facilities. They have indoor storage over winter for outboard motors. They don't have a restaurant though one is within walking distance.

They are adjacent to the state park, so seabird viewing is excellent. Crabs and fish are abundant in the marina basin. Gulls and swifts making a mess on the boats is a bit of a problem.

The marina location is also very good. No bridges block access to the sound. The marina is far enough from the shore that it is sheltered from major storms such as Sandy. The only concern is that the channel out can be shallow at extreme low tides such as during a super moon. You probably shouldn't locate a boat here with a draft greater than 5'. My boat has a 5' draft with the keel down, but I exit the harbor with the keel retracted, so I don't have problems. I have hit bottom when I experimented with the keel all the way down.

Prices for a slip at this marina are very competitive, among the lowest I have found in Connecticut. Prices for boat services I have used have been very fair. I've relied on them for bottom painting and outboard motor maintenance, both preventive and for repairs. They will also do trailer maintenance.

A fishing boat that takes fisherman on excursions is also located here. I haven't been on it, but it is a nice looking boat and I think it would be a fun thing to try out.

This place is run by a bunch of crooks. They will damage your property, steal stuff from your boat and not return it, over charge you for services and pretend they don't know about it. Avoid this place at all costs. All of the 5 star reviews on this site are pretty much fake. They have not a single happy customer. Everyone that keeps their boat there are looking to leave.

This place is horrible! Will never do business with them again. Wolves in sheep's clothing. They are nice and polite until you sign the contract. They will charge you additional ridiculous fees and then not release your property to you. Stay away!!! The positive reviews are fake which shows how they operate.
