The lady at the front desk was very sweet, and the price of the room was cheap. However, I had to buy cleaning products to clean up my own room because it was disgusting. Nothing wiped down, not vacuumed, bedding and towels had mysterious stains, phone and several lamps in the room were unplugged, there were ashes on the top of the toilet and toilet seat, it reeked of smoke, and there were cigarette burn holes in all the blankets. (This was supposedly a non-smoking room) Also, room service opened my door without even knocking first.

We stayed there for one night with our dogs as part of a road trip throughout the South. We had pre-booked and pre-paid for a non-smoking room. Upon check-in we realized we were screwed because the room was beyond smoky and filthy and we had no other alternative because we had dogs. The bathroom smelled even worse so we just used the toilet not the shower. The beds were comfortable enough but I was coughing all night because of the smoke. I found a cigarette butt on the stained carpet and there were stains on the exposed mattress. There were cigarette burn holes on the bedspreads. We escaped at dawn with no desire to try their free breakfast.

Was not decent enough to rent out rooms. And, the room were not good enough for $70. Dead bugs on the floor, a shut up smell like no one had been in the rooms for at least a year.
I understand there a remodeling going on but, let's present our Best Face when you have out of towners checking in. That's how you retain and keep business.

DO NOT STAY HERE! The bed sheets aren’t changed. Found condoms in one room. Puke in the floor. BLACK MOLD everywhere! The pictures must have been taken when they opened. The pool is black. It’s sad when the desk attendant has to use germ x on your room keys. Looks like they cleaned the mirrors with there spit. Air conditioner doesn’t work.

THEY SERVE BREAKFAST! The place is not ideal on looks, but they have a great price compared to their competition and you don't have to worry about breakfast. Basically, you get what you pay for. You get room service everyday, free self parking, and okay customer service. This is a great spot if you're on a budget or.just trying to get away for a few days.
Again, they do serve breakfast for free if I remember correctly. Now it's not a super crazy buffet type of breakfast, you get what you pay for. They serve cereal, yogurt, cinnabon muffins, orange juice, bagels w/cream cheese, etc. However, if you don't make it on time to breakfast, you're just out of luck. Free warning! Thanks for reading this!

Highlights: The rooms are clean enough, the staff are nice, the location is close to multiple restaurants within walking distance, pet friendly, the shower head and water pressure is awesome, the air conditioners are beasts. LCD TV either HDMI inputs so you can plug in your favorite devices. Microwave. Mini fridge.

Lowlights: The pool is drained, the wifi is terrible. The bed is not the most comfortable. The toilet runs constantly and then makes a very loud whistle when you flush it that doesn't stop until the tank is full. The tile is heavily cracked in places and the walls are somewhat thin. There are burn marks on the carpet (smoking room, so it's expected. I don't smoke, but I'm evacuating from Hurricane Irma, so I didn't have much choice.)

Bottom line: Bring earplugs (barking dogs and car doors slamming abound) and don't come for the amenities. If you're just looking for a bed to lay your head, this will do.

I will start by saying that this is a beautiful hotel, the architecture and gardens are very pretty. The reason I gave this property only 2 starts is because it's very poorly maintained to the point that it literally seems like it's going to fall apart any second, I'll attach some pics so you can have a idea.
Second. This is the cheapest hotel we could find in town (most affordable), so I guess we got our money's worth...
The first thing we noticed walking in to the room was the smell, very musty, we had to bring our own lysol to freshen the air. Towels and pillowcases had stains on them. Dirty walls and worn doors. Big leak coming from the bathtub fossett. We were also told upon check in that the pool was closed because it had a leak and nobody could find where... well, we went to see the pool and immediately thought "this thing doesn't have only one leak!", I've never seen a pool in worst shape than this one, it had cracks all over!.
It is heartbreaking to see such a beautiful property with great potential being neglected like this, this hotel desperately needs a savior!

From top to bottom gross. Had no other choice but to spend three nights here due to hurricane Irma evacuations. Mold and flaking paint on the ceilings triggered my allergies. Toilet did NOT flush on its own EVEN AFTER maintenance guy claimed to have fixed it... pretty sure that's poop on the walls if you check the pics.
We asked for non-smoking, THE SHOWER curtains still wreaked of cigarettes and the bed covers had cigarette burns on them. The keycard reader on the door never worked the first time. Five swipes to open. Only reason why there's one star on this review is because there's no zero star option.

The truth: this was the best place in Selma.
