I had an amazing experience staying with the Sheltons. There’s a beautiful mountain view you can see for miles on the edge of their land. The clear night skies are out of this world. I loved the farm animals roaming close by. The atmosphere is so peaceful and refreshing. You feel so connected with nature at every hour of the stay. The Sheltons went above and beyond and made sure we had everything we needed and more.

Thank you to the Sheltons for making my first stay memorable.

Had a great weekend riding and camping here! Some gals rented cabin which were super clean and well equipped. Campsites and horse stalls were clean and well maintained. Trails were well maintained as well. Camp hosts could not have been more accommodating! Will definitely go again

My family and I have been visiting Shelton’s Big Flat Getaway since 2016. The views are breathtaking and magnificent! When we stay at their cabins their kindness and customer service goes above and beyond, they make us feel like family. If you live in the city we recommend you visiting the Shelton’s cozy and quaint ranch-life cabins if you are looking to disconnect. Big Flat is the perfect Big Get Away spot from the city rush.
Kim and Shawn are awesome hosts! My family and I will continue to visit The Shelton’s Cabins for many years to come and enjoy nature with friends and Family.

We go quite often with my in-laws and my husbands side of the family! They are so nice all of the times great place to let the kids run! We love the view and all the cabin options best place to have our crawfish boils! There’s places to keep horses fire pits and my favorite the shirts and hoodies they have for sale!

On Oct. 22nd 2021 we were invited by a few couples to come ride for Thanksgiving weekend. The group of about 14 were great people that as we do, love the great outdoors and riding horses. We made our reservation that same day. My boyfriend and I were going to enjoy the best Holiday (my Birthday as well as Thanksgiving with great people. Then when calling to change arrival time I was informed had no reservations.Come to find out one of the women in the group had cancelled our reservation due to jealousy and without cause. Mind you this woman has many fights with her husband and has became abusive to him in front of many people that have left camp early because of it.
How can a person proven herself to be such an unworthy person cancel someone else's reservation . Why when asked was I not at least told about the situation. I may have driven 4 hours pulling my ponies that far then been told I had no reservations. Unprofessional and down right uncalled for in any camp involving innocent animals becoming victims to drama and poor people qualify .... Just something to think about when booking your next getaway.
