The essence of travel also is the discovery of kindness. You might encounter 10 different cultures worldwide in a single year, and all are the same: People crave kindness, friends, good food and drink β€” and peace. -Jorge Adeler

Spending the weekend at SJ riding camp was a breath of fresh air. Literally! The air is so fresh and crisp. Laura went out of her way to make sure our camping experience was exceptional. The staff were super kind and knowledgeable. Shout out to the amazing cooks. The pesto pizza was delightful. There are so many fun things to do from riding horses, water sports, basketball or simply relaxing and reading a book in a hammock. Can’t wait to return.

My 9 year old daughter went to riding camp here this summer & had a wonderful experience. She even came back to the barn with some new riding skills. She can't wait to go back next year! πŸ™‚

I paid a lots of money for 2 weeks. If you want to waste your money go ahead. Your kid will be waking up in the middle of the night because spiders crawling in their face, really hot in those cabins, food sucks because they don't have a real cook, no staff to maintain the premises your kid will be cleaning bathrooms as part of the beautiful experience. The bathrooms are old and filthy. No cold water or filter water, just tap hot water due to the hot weather, the only way to get ice is buying from the canteen. Staff will eat dunkin donuts in front of the kids but they are not allowed to eat that or counselors will order Uber eats which I believe is against the rules because they are putting your kids well being in danger since there is no security there. Most of the kids were living eating their own snacks. Your kid will beg you to get pick up sending letters to get them. I picked up my daughter and she was hungry and crying of happiness to see me. Other kids were crying and waiting for their parents to pick them up. Staff will lie to you saying... don't worry we spoke to your kid and she wants to stay. The reality is... they will never talk to your kid or lie about it. I do not recall 5 minutes shower was part of the experience. I do not recall signing up my daughter for a boot camp. The camp supposed to be fun and for kids to learn horseback riding, my daughter didn't learn anything. After this horrible experience she wants to quit horseback riding. The reason for the parents to pay in March is for you no to get a refund from your bank and they will make you sign a document where it says "No Refunds"... Don't waste your $3,700 for 2 weeks... go on vacation with your kid or send them to a real camp.
I don't know why they still in business.
If you care about your daughter do not send her here.

My older daughter has been attending this camp for three years and loves it. The staff are wonderful and my daughter loves that campers have choice in how they want to spend their days. The camp director is fantastic. The riding program is great - they get to ride twice a day and do fun things like swimming with the horses.

My younger daughter can't wait to join her big sister next year!

My daughter has been coming here for 10 summers and absolutely loves it. The horses are treated so so well. The counselors work so hard to get to know the campers and support them. They have fun activities- camp fires and arts and crafts and obviously riding and swimming. The grounds are lovely and my daughter cannot wait to graduate to staff member!

LOVE THIS CAMP! IT IS SO FUN:)
I went for 3 summers for the same session each time and I absolutely loved it every time. All the girls are really nice and you can't to know the girls in your cabin, but also the girls in your riding group which gives you a good variety of new friends!
All the horses are absolutely adorable and fun to ride! The riding instructors are all really nice and so are the councilors. I highly recommend this camp!!!

This is the best camp experience my daughter has had. Not only does this camp help with riding, it helps children learn to grow and to make lasting friendships. When I picked my daughter up after 3 weeks, she didn't want to leave because she didn't want to say goodbye to the counselors and her friends. She has made lasting friendships with people from all over. My only regret is that I didn't start her at a younger age. This camp has been the best thing for her in every way possible! Thank you to all at SJ Riding Camp!!
