We originally met Thomas in Haines, AK. We hired him for a photography tour. No one knows the area like Thomas. He knows all the great spots for photography wildlife and scenery. We have since used him for touring around Skagway and once again it was amazing. First off, he has a super comfortable vehicle and is a great, safe driver. He picked us up on time and dropped us off at the time we requested so we were back for our ship's departure without any worries. We drove up into the Yukon and back with multiple stops along the way. He never rushed us so plenty of time to take it all in. We cannot recommend this tour enough. You will not be disappointed. See you again in 2026!!!

Well, what can I say! This is our second excursion with Thomas, and he did not disappoint. Thomas's knowledge of the area is vast and brought that much more to the trip. Learned many new things we did not know about the area. He knows all the right locations for his guests and the photo ops are incredible. I can't recommend Skagway Yukon Custom Van Tours enough. From scenery to wildlife, if it's there he will find it. Great guy. Great trip. Great time.

Prior to booking with Thomas, I confirmed that our cruise ship arrival would allow enough time for a van tour with him. Our family of five (three teens/young adults) thoroughly enjoyed our van tour with Thomas. My husband really wanted to ride the train, so Thomas picked us up at the cruise ship and took us to the depot to pick up our tickets. He took our photo prior to boarding the train and then met us in Fraser, BC at the end of our train ride. From Fraser, we headed to the Yukon with a stop at the suspension bridge. Not long after Thomas picked us up, we had our first bear sighting! It was so exciting to have the bear so close to the road. The drive was beautiful, and Thomas provided the history of the goldrush as we drove along. We stopped in Carcross for lunch and then continued to Emerald lake. We saw another bear on our way back to Skagway as well as gorgeous scenery. The day was definitely a highlight of our trip and I would highly recommend spending your day on shore with Thomas. He was a great guide, very friendly, knowledgeable, and an overall delight to spend the day with.

Thomas goes above & beyond to give you a good experience. He's a pro & is very knowledgable on the people & places - one of my favourite things about tours is getting local tidbits of info & fun facts that you'd never find online or on your own. You can tell Thomas loves what he does; he's sociable, great with people, patient, and has great taste in music to boot. He's also got a photographer's eye, so is an especially apt guide for photo tours.

Tom took us to all the best sites and was more than willing to stop anywhere. we requested. He was an expert at finding the wildlife which we would’ve never found on our own. The excursion was fun, informative, and greatly appreciated! I even left my jacket behind in his van, and he was willing to send it to me which he certainly didn’t have to do. We were a group of five and we are all still talking about it. As being one of the best, if not the best excursion ever!

I was disembarking a tour bus in the cruise terminal area. My driver parked with one open parking space between our bus & the one next to us , as I expect is practice, to ensure the safety of the passengers.
All of a sudden a minivan flew through the open space, barely missing my driver & myself.
The minivan driver stopped at the end of the parking area to let off a passenger and when I approached him to tell him that he had almost hit us he said ‘well I didn’t, did I’.
I was less than impressed by his attitude let alone his lack of remorse.
If you want a safe driver, take one of the many other tours!

Hands-down the highlight of our entire cruise! Thomas took us up the Klondike Highway on a five hour tour of the most beautiful scenery we'll likely ever see in our lifetime. Worth the money - you may only get one chance to see this area.
