Working with Michelle has been an absolute pleasure. We selected Michelle because of her long successful track record and also because we have close friends who admitted that Michelle was to be trusted. Selecting a planner can be difficult but thankfully we were blessed with the best one! My wife expects nothing but perfection so the communication between her and Michelle was constant. Everytime my wife had a question or some reassurance; Michelle was there to assist immediately. As a husband, what I appreciated the most was her attention to detail and her calmness. Exactly a year later from the absolute perfect day, we finally sit down to write a long over due thank you to Michelle and Somni Events. When speaking with a handful of wedding planners we were blown away by Michelle's attention to detail and meticulous organization. Her services included a project management and budgeting tool for our wedding weekend, which we used extensively to stay organized and stay on track. Michelle made the whole wedding planning process so easy and our wedding turned out absolutely AMAZING. We really couldn't have imagined it without her. I think it's safe to say that her and the Somni Events team brought our vision to life and more! From picking the venue, selection of vendors, design process, day of coordination, to checking in consistently throughout the past 1.5 years, Michelle was truly a DREAM to work with. Truly every single guest at the wedding and our family members told us numerous times how beautiful the wedding was, and how well thought out every single detail was. We loved all of our vendors.. truly, we were obsessed with all of them!! Of course, we thanked them as well, but we also wanted to give Michelle & team credit in helping us discover vendors that were the perfect fit for us. As we reflected back on the day and looked through the photos & videos, we couldn't stop smiling because of how perfect the day went! We especially appreciate how the team took care of all the little things, allowing us to truly live in the moment and soak in everything as it was happening. They were so organized & professional, and we didn't have to worry about a single thing because Michelle & team were on top of everything, including the clean up at the end of the night.

Working with Michelle was the best decision we made for our wedding. From the moment we met her, it was clear she was deeply invested in making our day exactly what we envisioned—and she delivered beyond our expectations.

Michelle worked with us tirelessly, right up until the very last day, to ensure every demand was met. We had guests decline or RSVP at the last minute, which could have easily caused chaos, but Michelle handled everything seamlessly. She worked with the venue to make sure every change was accommodated without a hitch.

On the day of our wedding, everything went perfectly. When I say perfect, I mean it was flawless. There truly aren’t enough words to describe how amazing Michelle is. We always dreamt of our wedding day but dreaded the planning process. That was until we chose Michelle as our full wedding planner. From the moment we spoke with her, we knew she was perfect for us. She was so understanding, patient, organized, personable, professional… the list goes on.

She took care of anything and everything. She provided us with checklists to keep us organized and timelines for us follow to ensure we weren’t overly overwhelmed. She created our wedding budget and handled all of our vendor contracts. Michelle has so many wonderful vendor connects in the wedding industry and we went with all of her recommended vendors. Of course, all of the vendors she recommended were just as wonderful as Michelle is. I had so many ideas for the wedding and she helped me bring it all to life, even providing helpful tips on what would look good and what wouldn’t. Her aesthetic is on point and really pays attention to the fine details.

She was our sounding board and she made it her #1 priority to ensure we were happy every step of the way. She was our wedding planner at first, but she quickly became our best friend. On our wedding day, she continued to shower us with love and care. She was incredibly attentive and not only did she make sure all the vendors were taken care of, but she also made sure we were calm and had time to relax with everything going on. She puts her clients first and we knew we could relax on the wedding day; we had no doubt everything would go smoothly. We all know weddings are not cheap, but Michelle was worth every penny. We can’t forget about her assistants, they were amazing as well! Michelle and her team are the dream team. Thank you Michelle, you are amazing. We wish we could do it all over again with you!

Michelle and her team at Somni Events helped plan my wedding from start to finish for the past year and a half. If anyone is on the fence about working with Michelle, this is your sign to hire her. Her eye for design, professionalism, and poise are worth every single penny.

To be candid, I was extremely intimidated about the prospect of planning a wedding when I first got engaged. I wanted the wedding of my dreams to be flawlessly executed from start to finish, and knew that I needed to work with a planner who was professional, proactive, and trustworthy. I was luckily introduced to Michelle (who checked all of the aforementioned boxes) and signed a full planning contract after an initial call with her.

Michelle supported and guided us throughout the entire planning process. She helped us find our dream wedding venue, and put together an incredible team of wedding vendors. She was also organized and very responsive over email and text.

In the weeks leading up to my wedding, I was naturally feeling nervous and stressed about all of the details and logistics coming together. I wish I spent less time worrying because the day of the wedding was executed perfectly because of Michelle and her team. I was in awe of the florals and decor, and appreciated that Michelle kept us on schedule throughout the day even when unexpected occurrences came up. My husband and I were actually able to enjoy time (and eat!) together during the day of the wedding. This is no small feat given all of the work and set up that needed to be done, and is truly a testament to Michelle and her team's hard work behind the scenes.

We had so many guests compliment how beautiful our wedding was and how much they enjoyed the entire evening - I can confidently say that none of it would have been possible without Michelle and her team. Her expertise, reputation, and connections in the wedding industry are unmatched (every single one of our vendors had nothing but praise for her) and my husband and I are so grateful that we had the chance to work with her on our special day.

My husband and I went to school in Southern California and were initially looking for venues in LA when we reached out to Michelle. Under family pressure, we ultimately picked a venue closer to home in Northern California, but Michelle came across so reliable that we decided to hire her anyways.

Knowing the length of the wedding planning process (it ended up being 2 years due to our postponement), it was important that I find a planner who I find comfortable to work with. I hear stories of people having to draft emails every time they have a “stupid” question or wondering if it’s appropriate to send a follow-up text when they can’t track down the planner, and I was wary of having to be THAT bride. My favorite thing about Michelle is how easy she is to get a hold of. I was able to text her on the little things and when necessary, she hopped on the phone. While it’s perfectly understandable that vendors take a few business days to respond to emails, look for a planner who’s compatible with YOU.

Our long-distance planning was surprisingly efficient - Michelle was always prepared. I’m certain that she had other clients, but every time we got on the phone/zoom she knew exactly what we had scheduled to talk about and she remembered all the details/decisions from our previous communications. She makes you feel like you’re her only focus even if your wedding is 1+ years away. If you’re looking for productive planning sessions, she’s exactly what you need.

I should also mention that Michelle has great taste in design. I knew the vibe and color I wanted for the ceremony and reception but I didn’t know how to bring it to life with our budget. She found and worked with our florist to transform what you would see on a Pinterest board to a concrete, itemized floral proposal that I could comprehend. She really listened to what was important to us and communicated that with our florist. The end result was amazing - our guests were in love with the flowers!

Our wedding day went smoothly. The timeline was tight since we did a rehearsal lunch the day of, but Michelle’s team kept us on track. Michelle also speaks mandarin so that really helped that she was able to communicate with my mom. We couldn’t have asked for a better planner!

Where to begin?!

We started planning with Michelle back in January 2023, which gave us a year and a half to plan the wedding of our dreams. From the get go, Michelle was incredibly helpful. I wasn’t sure if I should book a venue first or a planner first, but I’ll be forever grateful we booked Michelle first because she helped us search for venues and even went on the tours with us. After that she helped recommend vendors, helped create a cohesive vision and kept us on schedule. There’s no way we would’ve been able to plan such an incredible wedding without her. Fast forward to wedding day - everything went perfectly (and if there were any hiccups I didn’t know about them!) I’ve never seen a wedding run so smoothly, and on top of everything she made sure to help calm the wedding day nerves, which truly meant a lot to me. We’ll be forever grateful for everything that Michelle did for us, we love her!!!
