This was a fantastic hotel! The value for money was incredible, the rooms are spacious, clean and modern. It’s in a great location next to the university campus and within walking distance of several great restaurants. The staff were very friendly, and the lobby was beautiful and spacious. Lots of cute outdoor spaces, easy access to the parking garage and a great breakfast. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in.

Stayed here while my son was taking a tour at UGA. Clean, newer property. Comfortable, clean rooms. Great service. Didn’t love paying to park, but they also have Tesla chargers, which was an unexpected plus!

I normally try to write something funny or witty in the review. This is not one of those times.

We checked in. We had 2 rooms. The room for my kids did not have an operating toilet. We notified the front desk and they said they’d have maintenance take care of it.

Maintenance never came. I attempted to fix it myself but could not.

If I had wanted to share a single bathroom with my wife and 4 daughters I would have gotten 1 room….

It was extremely inconvenient. I believe this is a systemic issue for the hotel.

I will make this my hotel of choice while staying in Athens. The staff as a whole offer amazing service. We stayed at the bar until close because of Crystal the bartender. The next morning while taking advantage of the complimentary breakfast, Kim took time to ask if we needed anything and kindly fulfilled our request. The hotel is nice, the staff is amazing!

Ever got stuck in Atlanta traffic? We just could not catch a break! It took us forever just to drive from one side of Atlanta's suburbs to the east side and Athens was the only place we could find a place to stay at the last minute. Lindsey was the person who checked us in. She was super kind and helpful since this was an unplanned stay and it was Halloween weekend. Wouldn't you know we came to the right place. We were walking distance to many restaurants and there was going to be a costume parade later that night. Lindsey and her co-workers shared with us a few places to check out and asked if we needed anything else.

The room was super clean and spacious! The bathroom was beyond spacious which made it super easy for our family of 4 to enjoy. The beds were crazy comfortable and it was an overall good experience. If we are ever back in Athens, we'd definitely would stay here!

Modern layout, plenty of charging outlets and even direct USB ports except, oddly, on one side of the bed. They may have them, but I have yet to have a room with a view. Parking is straightforward although they like to charge you for that if it's not part of your package. Breakfast is generous and excellent with a wide variety of hot and cold options, excellent coffee But no espresso drinks if you go that way.

The location makes it pretty easy to get around town the hotel has decent amenities including outdoor seating and fireplace for evening gatherings or chats and a decent but not great, hotel gym.
The bathroom is nicely laid out even if the towels are basic, toilet tissue is top-notch :-).
The only small detriment was the tendency of the door to the room to close very loudly making it hard to go in and out without waking a family member

I’ve stayed here during each visit to Athens, GA. Great location, clean space and I feel safe because of the security. I unfortunately, had an incident where the housekeepers discarded my bag of gift cards for my team. However, the team quickly rectified it by having a member of staff search the compactor for them. These were valued at $600 total and would’ve caused me great grief and pain, should the recipients not receive them. I like the hotel, and front desk. Thank you for resolving this and communicating with me.

Marriott Athens has some of the most incompetent and direspectful staff I have ever witnessed. My daughter, 18, attempted to check in on New Years Eve that I booked for her, her friend, my friend, and myself. We were unaware that the check in age was 21. After they made her aware of that she told them she would call me to figure it out. I arrived later with my friend awaiting to check in. The staff cancelled our room with absolutely no reason whatsoever. They had no idea what was going on and should have called if they had a concern. I will not be staying here again and neither should anyone else.
