I stayed at this location for a brief amount of time and for the time being, I was taken care about Mr. Brannon throughout my morning. He made everything quick and easy also provided everything I would need for my essential stay. Also wish him Happy Birthday!

Had to stay for a couple of nights in between moving and I really enjoyed the cleanliness of my room and amenities offered. Staff were all amazing but especially Brannon at the front desk. He was absolutely amazing and went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. Staying away from home is hard enough for me. He was patient, caring and truly a bright light. Working in hospitality for many years I appreciate others who understand and treat their guests with the upmost respect. He was the best part of my stay. Thank you!

Rooms are fine a little beat up, but clean, and a bit hard to find the place at night.... But.... The staff is amazing!

A young man with long hair knew me by name and greeted me each day. I travel with a 55lb tool kit and 70lb pelican case that I always have shipped to the hotel.

They were waiting in my room for me! Never once have I had that. I usually have to ask about them, then wait and try to fumble my way back to the room myself.

I thanked the young man and he insisted that he help me lift them into my car when I was leaving. I thanked him. I have stood in front of Marriott employees before as they watched me struggle to do this myself with no offer to help.

I hope the hotel knows how wonderful of an employee and person he is and how lucky they are to have him!

I needed to stay overnight in New London to catch an early ferry in the morning. SpringHill Suites was such a great hotel experience, unexpectedly so, I had to post here. The first sign I was going to get a good experience was receiving customized emails from the hotel management itself (signed by its staff) providing me with information about my stay and other tips.

When I arrived, the check in staffer was extremely friendly and responsive and actually gave me a welcome bag because of my Marriott Status (first time I received something in a while!) When I got to my room, it was a spacious size, like something you would get at an extended stay hotel, and the room was extremely clean and in good condition and well maintained. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean and functioned well. Their shampoo/soap choices were higher quality than I expected.

In the morning, breakfast was orderly and staff came by once or twice to ask me how I was enjoying it/doing even though it was a breakfast buffet!

Staff was so friendly and responsive, it reminded me of what I remembered the hotel experience used to be back in the day or at least pre-Pandemic. This franchisee location is run very well and their attention to detail, communications, and the customer experience is one of the best I've seen for this class of hotel. If I need to stay in New London, I would definitely stay here again and I recommend it to others!

Front staff was lovely, rooms are spacious but dated with an overwhelming smell of must and mold. AC was old and tired and could not adequately dehumidify the room. We could not close the curtains in the room because they completely covered the AC. When we brought the issues to management we were given a fan to dry and cool the room. 😳Everything was mediocre at best and way overpriced. Not a fan.

I am providing feedback on my recent stay at the Springhill Suites in Waterford, CT, from August 7-9, 2024. My family and I have stayed at this hotel before and enjoyed its convenient location near shops and the Mystic area. However, I was quite disappointed with the current state of the property and won't be staying here again.||Although the main lobby was clean and well-maintained, and the staff were polite and attentive, the condition of the rooms was concerning. Specifically, the third-floor rooms seemed to be in severe disrepair. The first room I was assigned, 304, had stained carpets and couch, a foul odor, and an unclean bathroom. I reported these issues to the front desk on the day of check-in, and they promptly moved me to another room.We were moved to room 308, which was next to the elevator. The room was not much better. While it had a fresher smell, the couch was ripped, there were dead bugs inside the photo frames, the cabinets near the microwave were damaged, the walls showed significant wear and tear, and the carpet was stained. Also, the ice machine on the third floor was out of service. When I raised these concerns with the staff, I was informed that similar conditions existed in other rooms. Given that I was checking out the next day, I decided not to request another room due to the inconvenience it would cause my family.||The hotel did adjust the rate for the first night due to the inconvenience, but ideally, we should not have been assigned such rooms in the first place. The hotel should address these maintenance issues before offering these rooms to any guests. Everyone deserves to receive the quality of accommodation they expect based on their booking. Had I known about the room conditions beforehand, I would have chosen to stay elsewhere. I want to extend special thanks to the hotel staff: Matt, Brannon, and Eric for their efforts to make my stay as comfortable as possible given the circumstances.

The Staff was pleasant and helpful..the location was perfect. However, the rooms and the level of cleaning left a lot to be desired. A dirty folded up wet towel was left on top of supposed clean towels in the bathroom. The bed sheet contained an old stain, and the refrigerator had a juice left behind I assume by a previous guest. There were no garbage bags in the waste baskets. It was obvious that the room was not thoroughly clean which left me feeling less than comfortable and forced to do some touch up cleaning myself. I have always stayed at Marriott properties due to the friendly staff and welcoming environment for families so I hope this was just one mishap of someone on the cleaning staff. Hopefully better attention will be paid in the future to ensuring roomsare thoroughly cleaned between guests. Otherwise, pleasurable short getaway and extremely friendly staff.

We decided to extend our family trip and drive to Connecticut and visit an area beach for the day. This hotel was one of the few in the area. We paid with a combination of points and cash. The gentleman at the counter was very nice upon checking in; his name was Matt. Luggage carts were readily available, which was a perk. We peeked in on the pool (and later visited), it was dated but clean. It also had clean towels to use.

Unfortunately, we were less than thrilled by the rest of our experience. The hallways smelled dirty, and the room itself smelled musty. There were stains everywhere - including the lampshade and boxspring. The bathroom had mold growing all around near the ceiling. The carpets were very dirty. The air-conditioning seemed like it was being overworked, just trying to get us to 68 (which felt more like 80).

Yes, I understand the hotel is older and it is located by a body of water, so that may contribute to the musty odor. However, it's badly in need of an update. I'm giving the hotel 2 stars just because the management team was so nice.
