Amazing experience. I had just tried to go to Polk county for new registration/licensing. I had tried to go twice, and it was a nightmare, and its 3 weeks and 4 days before I could get an appointment there. I went to Story county, walked right in, zero wait, and the whole process took 10 minutes. The lady helping me was so nice. It’s crazy the difference between Polk and Stort county. I will drive farther any day to get treated a thousand times better, and actually get helped. Thank you!!

Great customer service and overall a great experience. I just moved to Iowa and needed to change my plates. Tammie had walked me through everything from the phone and in person. She was the best! We need more people like her!

I was charged x amount to transfer a title. The amount on the title, and on my receipt say a grand total of that amount. So why when I look at my credit card statement is there an additional 2% processing fee No one told me about this fee, and it's not on my title or receipt. Obviously I will re-collect this on the chargeback I file. One would think a treasury office would be better organized to properly conduct financial transactions.

Drove a half hour to renew my plates and they won't let me in because appointment only. Seriously? And then I had to figure out where to go myself because I couldn't find anyone in the building to point me in the right direction. What a joke. I'm so glad I won't be in this dump for long.

My name is Kim, and I I thought you may be interested in an event that took place at your office on Friday, June 15th
My husband drove to Iowa falls on Thursday, and purchased a vehicle. on Friday he came to your office to transfer the title, and was then be told we needed to fill out, sign and provide a "bill of sale" why? because the pen slipped when we wrote the purchase date, and made a small mark on the 6 for the month the sale was made(June) and was accused of "possibly" writing over a previous date. therefore in order to complete the transaction that day, so I would be able to have a vehicle to get to work the next day, he had to drive again to Iowa Falls and have the seller sign a bill of sale. which caused a days loss of wages. Now I not sure if this issue happens a lot but in this case, since my husband was willing, although not happy about it to make the trip again from Ames to Iowa Falls, I feel he should have been given the benefit of being honest and perhaps a one time exception.

Not only was he inconvinced, he was made to feel as if he were being sneaky, he was able to get back and finalize the transaction in time, but was never offered an apology.

Getting ahold of them is a nightmare. I cam in not realizing I needed an appointment (my fault I'll admit.) But I try and call them and if there is nobody to take the call it will disconnect. Atleast have a on hold system in place. I went to get a appointment online and they only accept appointments from 1200 to 430?

Turn you away without an appointment despite the office being completely empty. They had no problem taking you without an appointment a week before though.
